Dear Crusader Families,
We are blessed to be heading into Spring Break without the fears and limitations from one year ago. I couldn’t be more proud of our students as they brushed off the Covid challenges in semester one while continuing to build on our strong academic traditions. The hallways are filled with smiling faces, boundless energy, and renewed faith that we can do anything with God on our side.
I hope we can all find time during this Holy Week to be thankful for the sacrifices Jesus made for us. During this stressful time around the world and within our own country and community, it may be easy to forget the importance of this week. Let us make time to pray together as a family and recall Jesus’ sacrifices and celebrate His resurrection on Easter Sunday.
The faculty, staff, and administration want to thank all of you for your continued support of St. Henry District High School. We pray you find time to relax with family and friends during this much-needed break while recharging for the final five weeks of the 2021-2022 school year.
When we return from Spring Break on April 25, we will have only 24 days left of classes. Below you will find important information as we wind down to the end of the school year and graduation on May 26.

During the week of April 25th, St. Henry students will be participating in a Diocesan Safe Environment lesson in their Religion classes. The goal of this lesson is to give children the tools they need to help us keep them safe by educating them regarding boundaries, safe and unsafe behaviors, and healthy relationships. Each year, this program will provide a theme that introduces and builds on the basic concepts of the "Teaching Boundaries and Safety Guide."
We ask that you complete the attached form by Sunday, April 24. Every parent/guardian has the option to have their student "opt out," in which case the school will provide the parent/guardian(s) with a lesson plan so that they may address the content with their child at home. If we do not receive a response by April 24th, your student will automatically have opted in.

Academic Showcase

Cyber Science Honors students William Bartlett, Anna Dinius, Michael Renaker, and Carson Schmidt won first place at the UC IT Expo with VIAS (Visually Impaired Assistance System) developed to outfit any private building for the visually impaired. This work of art paid off with a huge win for Saint Henry District High School today in a virtual competition. Congratulations Cyber Science Honors!

TWO big art shows over the last two weeks with the first being a show including Art 1, Art 2, Media Art, and Art 4 students the weekend of our musical and the second being the Senior Art Show that opened prior to the En Blanc event on April 9th. Both shows had a very large gathering and viewers were very impressed with the variety and talent of our visual art students. Way to rock, creative Cru!
Students in Media Art class have started working on stop motion films based on film reviews of claymation features. They are really enjoying using the Adobe programs!

Crusaders of the Week

The Crusader of the Week for English I Honors is Grace Gulla. Ms. Vieth notes the first quality people notice about Grace is the lively expression on her face. That liveliness characterizes her mind and her interest in the world around her. Grace possesses an exceptional work ethic that produces thoughtful, creative and well-reasoned commentary in both class discussion and analytical writing. She is a humble student who never holds herself above others and who exhibits quiet leadership in small group settings as she guides discussion, respects the contributions of others, and offers gentle encouragement without making others feel inferior. She truly exemplifies Christian behavior and is a pleasure to have in class. Congratulations Grace!
It is my distinct pleasure to nominate Emma Linkugel for AP World History Crusader of the Week. Mr. Graue states that Emma is an absolute pleasure to have in class and is an extremely hard worker. What truly separates Emma from so many is she maintains a calm demeanor despite the academic rigors of the class. She is also kind to her fellow classmates and is always willing to help others.
Congratulations Emma!
