Congratulations to Mike Bowling on his 15 years of service to Saint Henry District High School.

CRU signing autographs at grade school night!

The CRU Cafe celebrates Shirley Temple by serving them to the student body. Since Shirley Temple is an icon for the American culture and during the depths of the Great Depression, President Roosevelt refers to the talented Shirley Temple as “Little Miss Miracle” and gives her credit for boosting the country’s morale.
Next week, the CRU Cafe will celebrate the seniors with refreshing Outshine Fruit bars. Aloha Summer.

FEC NEWS
The FEC (Family Engagement Council) wants to thank you, our amazing Crusader parents, for your generous support throughout this past school year. With your help, the FEC was able to bring SHDHS families together while raising much-needed funds for a variety of school projects. It was a very successful first year for our FEC...and we're working hard to ensure that next year is just as great (or even better). In order to do that, though, we need your input. Please take a few minutes to answer this VERY SHORT FEC survey (link below). Your feedback is invaluable and greatly appreciated. https://forms.gle/Ta6GwRaU6rFpDtuN6

Service Update
Students are encouraged to complete and log summer service hours. Prayer to End a School Year
God of wisdom, we thank you for all the gifts you have given us throughout this school year and for the good things you have done in us. We praise you for all who have shared in the work of this school. We ask that you bless them in your love and give them refreshment and peace. Grant students the grace to stay focused academically during exams and the peace that comes from surrendering to your will. We praise you, God, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen

Crusader of the Week

Mrs. Ryan nominates Camden Fedders for Religion Crusader of the Week. Cam is a kind, hard-working, and respectful student. He is always willing to lead prayer or share his thoughts in our class discussions. Cam has a contagious positive attitude, as is his Christian behavior in and out of the classroom. It's been a pleasure having you in class this year, and may God continue to bless your journey at WKU. Congratulations Cam!
Mrs. Gonzalez proudly celebrates Abbi Rigacci as Crusader of the Week for English III. Abbi's quiet nature means that her keen insights don’t always get expressed for all to hear, but they are definitely apparent in her writing. Abbi excels at metacognition, the ability to think about one’s thinking. In fact, Abbi writes about writing, often leaving questions, notes, and comments for Mrs. Gonzalez in the margins of her work. (You’d make a good English teacher with those skills!) Her thoughtful mind allows her to dig deep into the works we read, and she is respectful to all. Congratulations, Abbi!

Counselors Corner
ATTENTION FRESHMEN PARENTS
On May 19, the freshmen class will be taking the Terrace Metrics Inc. assessment during the school day to examine their social/emotional strengths and needs. (The assessment takes approximately 15-20 minutes to complete.) While not a diagnosis tool, this survey will allow us to gauge their needs and determine what support, programming, and interventions will be most valuable as we look ahead to the 2022-2023 school year.
For this survey, we will be looking at the following resilience indicators:
Global Satisfaction
Hope
Leadership
Personal Standards
Positive School Experience
Resiliency
The data gathered via Terrace Metrics is kept strictly confidential, and only those in the Counseling Department and Administration (Mr. Gish & Mr. Brannen) will have access to the data. If you do not want your freshman student to participate, the deadline to inform Mrs. Roebker via email is May 13. Email: mroebker@shdhs.org
