Culinary Club celebrates the season with Fall-Themed Pies
The Culinary Club celebrated the fall season by making hand pies (individual serving pies) with the autumn fillings of apple, pumpkin cheesecake, and smores. The results were delicious! For our next session, we'll make ooey gooey mac-n-cheese in several varieties.

SHDHS visits NKU School of Informatics
Computer Science students visited NKU's School of Informatics on November 14. Students spent the day learning about careers in Informatics. Students participated in a cyber security activity and learned the theoretical differences between data and information from Assistant Professor Rasib Khan, Ph.D. Students participated in a panel with current NKU students, learning the ins and outs of college life. The best part of our tour was having SHDHS alumni Robert Blasingame give all the students a tour of the eSports room and introduce students to the varsity team.

Campus Ministry

The sophomore retreat was successful last week! We had quality small group time, praise and worship music, witness talks, games, and the Sacraments! Thank you to everyone who prayed for the Sophomore students.
Pumpkin Prayer for Thanksgiving
Dear Jesus,
As I carve my pumpkin, help me pray this prayer:
Open my mind so that I can learn about You;
(cut the top off the pumpkin)
Take all my sin and forgive the wrong that I do.
(clean out the inside)
Open my eyes so Your love I will see;
(cut eyes shaped like hearts)
I'm sorry for times I've turned up my nose at what You've given to me.
(cut a nose in the shape of a cross)
Open my ears so Your word I will hear;
(cut ears shaped like a Bible)
Open my mouth to tell others You're near.
(cut the mouth in the shape of a fish)
Let Your light shine in all I say and do!
(place candle inside and light it)
Service Hours
This a reminder that service hours are due by November 30. Each student must have ten service hours completed, five of those being "red service" - working with the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized. All red services must be with a non-profit agency.
This semester Campus Ministry has offered service opportunities with Rose Garden Mission, Go Pantry, Be Concerned, SHDHS, Saint Barbara, and many other agencies, schools, and civic centers. Always check the Community Page in Schoology for new opportunities.
Safe Environment (Parental Opt-Out)
After Thanksgiving Break, St. Henry students will participate in a Diocesan Safe Environment lesson in their Religion classes. This lesson aims to give children the tools they need to help us keep them safe by educating them regarding boundaries, safe and unsafe behaviors, and healthy relationships. Each year, this program will provide a theme that introduces and builds on the basic concepts of the "Teaching Boundaries and Safety Guide."
We ask that you complete the attached form by Tuesday, November 22. Every parent/guardian has the option to have their student "opt-out," in which case the school will provide the parent/guardian(s) with a lesson plan so that they may address the content with their child at home; additionally, during the day of the lesson, your child will attend a study hall in the Media Center.
If you select "opt-in," your child will be present for the in-class lesson. If we do not receive a response by November 22, your student will automatically be opted in.
