Crusader of the Week
Miss Vollmer nominates Braeden Francis for Crusader of the Week for English II. Braeden has shown immense growth this year both in maturity and classroom skills. Braeden is disciplined in doing his best, and his resiliency is to be admired. He asks questions when he does not understand and pushes to find the right answer and broaden his understanding of English content and life in general. He has done a great job of learning to see more than what is just on the surface of the text, and his ability to make connections will help him succeed as he continues his journey at SHDHS! Thanks for all your hard work, Braeden, and congrats!
Mrs. Poat’s Junior Religion Crusader of the Week is Natalee Tracey. Natalee cheerfully starts the day with Religion class. She goes out of her way to show an interest in both the subject and to extend compassion and grace to others. She lives and applies the principles that she learns. She has a servant’s heart, a strong work ethic, and a sense of humor. Thanks, Natalee, for your classroom leadership and openness to learning and living the faith. You exemplify our school theme of arising from the past and going forward in faith. Congratulations Natalee!

Academic Showcase/Clubs
Junior Religion classes were tasked with being the "staff" of a homeless shelter, making the tough decision about who would be sheltered for the night and who would be turned away for lack of space. It was not an easy choice, as all people have the right to dignity and basic needs. They learned that there are more shelters and rescue services (locally and nationally) for dogs than for human beings.
This Project is Burnin' Up!
Miss Vollmer's English II classes recently finished Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. The general idea of this dystopian classic is that books are banned, and firemen START fires instead of stopping them. The summative assessment on colors and symbolism was to create a Netflix original preview for the book! It looks like we've got some future Hollywood designers on our hands!

Boosters Gently Used Spiritwear Sale
Do you have old Spiritwear floating around the house that doesn’t fit anymore? It’s time to put your unwanted Saint Henry gear to good use. You can donate it to the Athletic Boosters. There will be a donation box in the front office until the end of the year. A date to drop off large bags in person will soon be announced. Please make sure all St. Henry items are in good condition and clean.
Our goal is to have enough items by the start of next school year to have a “resale.” For questions or if you’d like to help with the shop, please contact Julie at [email protected].
