Dear Crusader Families,
Monday begins a new school year with opportunities to expand your personal, academic, and spiritual growth. We are all aware that there will also be challenges requiring us to support one another and forge ahead in support of our students. I look forward to another successful year developing young minds as they mature from youthful teens into young adults. Please keep the faculty, staff, and students in your prayers as we start this school year.
ALL SENIORS ARE ASKED TO REPORT TO THE CAFETERIA NO LATER THAN 7:30 A.M. ON MONDAY, AUGUST 16, FOR A SPECIAL PRESENTATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Below you will find highlights of what to expect, regarding COVID protocols, as students enter school on Monday, August 16.
-
Students will enter at the main entrance. No temperatures will be taken, but masks are required within the building per the Governor of Kentucky mandate.
- The mask mandate expires 30 days from August 10, 2021. The Diocese will review the requirement at that point if the order is not extended.
- Water bottles will be allowed throughout the day but must be clear. Water bottles can be purchased in the morning, during Flex, and at lunch, if needed. A water bottle filler station is located in the main lobby. Water fountains will not be available until further notice.
- Students will have a locker and may also use a backpack to carry materials to and from class.
- COVID positive faculty, staff, and students will need to quarantine based on the Diocesan requirements, previously sent out. Please keep your students home if they are not feeling well. Your support of this will help keep students and staff in school.
- Close contacts will be monitored by the school but will not be sent home for quarantine.
- Classes will not be live-streamed. Teachers will explain to their students how content for their particular class will be delivered if a student must quarantine.
- Sanitation and environmental standards will remain the same as last year. Cleaning and disinfecting will occur throughout the day, and our night crew will clean and disinfect classrooms, restrooms, and all other high-touch areas.
I want to share that our Bishop and Superintendent have been working tirelessly to keep our students in school. I know there will be opportunities to question and disagree with decisions that may have to be made, but know that they are on our side. Your support of our school and our Diocese is very much appreciated.
