CRUSADER OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Shea and Mrs. Ryan nominate Junior Jesus Diaz for Crusader of the Week for AAIMS.
"It is with great pleasure that we recognize Jesus Diaz for his remarkable transformation and achievements over this past year, as we have had the privilege of witnessing an incredible journey of academic growth and personal development in Jesus. At the beginning of his academic journey, he faced challenges impacting his performance. However, through determination, perseverance, and a commendable work ethic, Jesus has not only overcome these obstacles but has also emerged as a shining example of academic excellence and appears poised and ready to take on his senior year. Jesus consistently seeks additional resources for self-study and is always willing to collaborate with his peers to offer help or a witty comment to lighten the mood. Congratulations, Jesus! Keep up the good work!"
Mr. Patti nominates Junior Corrine Blackburn for Crusader of the Week for Religion III.
"In addition to an infectiously strong work ethic and dedication to the commitment that we see in and out of the classroom, Corrine is also curious, insightful, and willing to speak her mind. Additionally, her devotion to her faith speaks for itself. She regularly spends her Flex time attending Adoration and Mass, she asks poignant questions in Religion class, and her genuine care and concern for her friends and classmates is apparent. Her work ethic, devotion, and faith will serve her well in life, and that's why I'm proud to recognize Corrine Blackburn for Religion III's Crusader of the Week."

LENTEN FUNDRAISING EVENT
Our Lenten Fundraising Event for USA with Ukraine and Mary's Meals began this week! Students are encouraged to bring monetary donations to their religion class for five weeks and compete with other class periods. Each religion teacher has different weekly incentives for the class period with the most money collected! The grade level with the most money donated will win an out-of-uniform on March 27. If each student brings in $2-3, we can raise $2,000 for these two excellent agencies. If you want to learn more about what they do, check out their websites below.

AP WORLD HISTORY
Students in Mrs. Kaiser-Munday's AP World History class this week were studying the ramifications of World War I. In addition, they learned how the homefront coped with their loved ones being in harm's way by creating "lucky charms" like "Nenette and RinTinTin," who were yarn creatures that were shared with loved ones to remind them of those back home. Sophomores created reproductions and traded them because one of the beliefs was that it wasn't lucky unless you gave it to someone else!
AP GOVERNMENT
This week, the AP Government students researched political parties and platforms. When researching the websites for the Republicans and Democrats, they discovered a recipe for Red Velvet Cake. Keanu decided to make it for his classmates this week!
