The Cru Bid & Bash event was a tremendous success, but we still need your help to reach our Fund-a-Need goal for a new digital sign on our campus. We're just $10,000 short, but there's an excellent opportunity to make a difference. If we can raise $5,000, an anonymous donor has pledged to match it, which means your donation will go twice as far. Please consider contributing to this important cause and help us bring a new digital sign to our campus!

**NOTICE**
Please note that on March 26, Duke Energy will be on our campus and will shut down the power to our school building. To ensure everyone's safety, please make sure to exit the building by 3:30 pm on this day. We kindly request that no events be scheduled after school to accommodate the power shutdown. I appreciate your cooperation.

CAREER EXPLORATION PROCESS
Student and Parents:
During April, students can take free career assessments and register for optional Flex sessions to discuss their results. Online career assessments are for career exploration purposes only, and the results are not definitive. We will provide links to the career assessments in the weekly parent newsletter and encourage parents to take them, too. This is an excellent opportunity for students and parents to discuss post-secondary options and future career opportunities.
Assessment featured this week: O*NET Interest Profiler: The O*NET Interest Profiler (IP) is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor. The IP is a free family of self-assessment career exploration tools that can help individuals discover the type of work activities and occupations they would like and find exciting. The IP can be self-administered and self-interpreted, and the results can be directly linked to over 900 occupations in the O*NET Online database. The completion time for the IP is approximately 20 minutes.

Classroom Showcase/Club News
WORLD DOWN SYNDROME AWARENESS DAY
On March 21, we celebrated World Down Syndrome Day, a day to celebrate Down syndrome and raise awareness. Students were encouraged to wear blue and yellow shirts and crazy socks that day. During lunch, Jenna passed out blue and yellow Gatorade to students wearing crazy socks.
SPANISH 1 VIRTUAL TRIP
The second stop on the trip around some Spanish-speaking countries was the Dominican Republic. The students tried foods, including cookies, coconut cake, rice pudding, plantains with salsa, and spicy mango candy.
SPRING NATIONAL PRO-LIFE CHALK DAY
The Crusaders for Life Club participated in the Spring National Pro-Life Chalk Day! The student braved the cold weather and the Arctic wind and created positive pro-life images at the Saint Henry District High School entrance. Life, what a beautiful choice!
SPANISH 1 - BACHATA
During the virtual trip to República Dominicana, the students also learned how to dance bachata, one of the country's most popular dances.
ART 1 INTRODUCED TO COLLAGE
Our Art 1 students are working on a project this month that most have never experienced—collage! We started talking about different types of collages, the ideas behind collages, and materials, and we looked at some famous collages by Picasso and Robert Rauschenberg. The kids have taken to the lesson well and have exceeded expectations so far!
ASL 1 - FASHION WEEK
American Sign Language 1 has just concluded our penultimate unit, which focuses on describing people, including personality traits, hobbies, and what they wear. There was no better way to show off their skills than to put on a small fashion show. Our students worked excellently with their partners to create fun and exciting models. We saw all kinds of "color, pattern, texture, and shine," in the words of Stacy London. They also absolutely nailed their vocabulary and grammar goals! I could not be more proud of how far they have come from day 1. Make sure to congratulate them when you see them.
Also, a special shout-out goes to our faculty and staff for being our guest judges! It was so great to have you join us and see what our students have been up to. I am looking forward to this being a yearly event!
