SHDHS TEACHER OF THE YEAR
Congratulations, Mrs. Kaiser-Munday, 2024 Teacher of the Year!
The Teacher of the Year Award recognizes a faculty member who diligently works to make SHDHS an exceptional environment. Our Teacher of the Year has been recognized by nominations from the student body, by her co-workers, and by administrators.
Many students noted in their nominations that Mrs. Kaiser-Munday is very deserving of this award. She has contributed so much to the SHDHS community, not only as a teacher, but as the NHS moderator, the driving force behind the new Gifted and Talented program, and even as a knitting instructor. Her joy for life and her passion for the students of SHDHS are infectious.
Olivia Parhad summed it up very well, saying," Mrs. Kaiser-Munday makes government class worth looking forward to every day because of the joyful atmosphere she brings to it. She teaches in an engaging and meaningful way that makes me want to learn more on a subject Iwouldn'tt typically find my interests falling into. She also takes the time to connect with students on an individual level and shows genuine interest in each person. She truly a one-of-a-kind teacher who shows not just her love for teaching, but her love for her students as well" GOVERNORS SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS
FIVE amazing Fine Art students have been accepted to attend the prestigiousGovernor'ss School for the Arts program this summer at the University of Kentucky. These students went through a rigorous application process to make it to the final round, in which they were interviewed and then accepted! Congratulations to Lucy Bolton, Magdalene Jump, and Sarah Littrell for Visual Art, Mckenna Egan for Film and Photography, and Alex Kruer for musical theatre and drama!!
NHS/RHO KAPPA DAY AT ST. MARY CEMETERY
Members of NHS and Rho Kappa (Social Studies Honor Society) ventured to St. Mary's Cemetery on April 27th to clean gravestones. Students learned the meaning of different markings on stones, said their names aloud, and prayed for those who had passed on. The weather was beautiful! Anyone interested in future dates, please reach out to Mrs. Kaiser-Munday.
AP GOVERNMENT SHOWER CURTAIN REVIEW
