The 2024 Alumni Art Show is officially open! Participating artists may submit up to 3 pieces that are 32x40 or smaller. Pieces must be matted or framed for hanging and must be dropped off in the high school office between 8am and 3pm from November 11th through November 20th. We will be awarding a "Best in Show" award this year in which the winning alum will receive TWO (2) FREE tickets to our high school play "Fiddler on the Roof". The art show is open from 5-7pm on November 22nd and 23rd immediately followed by the performance of Fiddler!
On Monday, November 11th, Saint Henry District High School will be honoring our local military veterans for Veterans Day 2024. This is an invitation to veterans who are family members or friends of our students and staff. Our celebration will start at 1:45 in the auditorium. This year SHDHS is excited to host our guest speaker: Diocese Superintendent of Schools – Kendra McGuire.
In order to make this event a success, we need the names of veterans who would like to attend this celebration. A veteran is any type of military personnel who has or is currently serving our country in any branch of the Armed Forces.
St. Henry District High School is very excited about this event as our students wish to acknowledge the devotion and sacrifice our men and women have given to our country.
Please contact Mr. Wyatt ([email protected]) to make a reservation with the following information: Name of Veteran – Branch of the Military – Years of Service & Student Contact at SHDHS.
CRUSADER OF THE WEEK
Mr. Trame nominates Freshman Lincoln Janes for Crusader of the Week for Physical Education.
"Lincoln Janes has been a model PE student in the first two months of school, demonstrating all the outstanding qualities of a student, an athlete, and a person that Crusaders aspire to be. Lincoln is personable, trustworthy, diligent, hard-working, and demonstrates the desire to improve by executing the fundamentals of PE correctly. He attempts to get better each and every day. Couple that with his propensity to do the right thing and treat others with dignity and respect, and you have a multitude of reasons why Lincoln Janes is Crusader of the Week!! Congratulations Lincoln!!!"
Mr. Denning nominates Senior Alex Kruer for Crusader of the Week for Website and User Interface Design.
"Throughout the early part of the year, Alex has stepped up noticeably from where he was as a junior. He has drawn on his previous experience to help provide explanations and ask questions that help everyone in class. During planning discussions, he takes the lead in coming to a consensus, drawing ideas out of others, and demonstrating respect for their contributions. His work on projects also shows an attention to detail in its construction and is unmistakably in Alex's voice."
FRONT OFFICE
ATTENDANCE - STUDENTS LEAVING FOR APPOINTMENTS
This is just a friendly reminder to notify the front office by sending a note to [email protected] before your student needs to leave for a doctor’s appointment during the school day. It’s important to inform the office in advance to reduce classroom disruptions and ensure teachers are aware of any students leaving their classes. When picking up students early, please call us at 859-525-0255, and we will send the student out to you. You do not need to come into the office and sign them out.
ATTENDANCE - ILLNESS DURING THE DAY
Please remind your student that if they start feeling ill during the day, they should go to the front office, and we will notify their parents.
