Important Traffic Update: Closure of West Entrance

Effective Wednesday, the West entrance/exit to SHDHS will be temporarily closed due to construction on Donaldson Highway. During this time, all traffic will flow through the main entrance. We have made adjustments to the drop-off and pick-up process to ensure efficiency and safety, with the goal of avoiding traffic backups on Donaldson Highway.

If these adjustments prove ineffective, we will reevaluate and make improvements. We kindly ask for your patience and cooperation during this transition. Please do your part by following the plan provided, staying alert, and avoiding distractions while driving. For any concerns or questions, please reach out to Officer Chapman at achapman@shdhs.org.

Morning Drop-Off Instructions (Orange Zone on Map)

• The student drop-off zone extends from the front of the circle to the senior lot entrance.
• If you are in this area, your student should exit the vehicle promptly to keep traffic moving. (Rain or shine—they’ll be okay!)
• Enter through the front circle and pull up as far as possible, closely following the vehicle in front of you.

Exit Instructions After Drop-Off (Green Zone on Map)

• After dropping off your student, drive to the outer loop of the parking lot, parallel to Donaldson Highway.
• Follow the route to the last row of the parking lot, then exit the campus.

Afternoon Pick-Up Instructions

• Do not stop or park in the FIRE LANE. This area must remain clear to allow traffic flow in both directions.
• Upon arrival, park in a designated space in the main lot to wait for your student.
• To help improve traffic flow, we recommend backing into your parking spot, so you can pull straight out when leaving.

An additional administrator will be stationed at the exit to facilitate a safe and orderly departure. However, with only one exit, please expect delays and exercise patience. To reduce congestion, you may consider arriving a few minutes later for pick-up.
