HOMECOMING DRESS CODE
- The neckline of the dress should be modest, which means no cleavage.
- The back of the dress needs to be appropriately contoured and modest, and cannot dip below the natural waistline.
- No midriff cut-out or bare midriffs are permitted. Cut-outs may not extend past the midline of the body on the side, including those covered by mesh. Dresses with cut-outs may be altered by sewing matching fabric under the cut-out area. Fabric may not be skin-toned, giving the impression that no fabric is there. If the fabric is removed after a student enters the dance, she will be asked to leave.
- Slits on the dress can be no higher than 4 inches above the knee.
- The length of the dress may be no shorter than 4 inches above the knee when standing up and should not ride up while walking or dancing.
- Males must wear pants, shirts, and a tie. No jeans and no ball caps are permitted.
- It is up to SHDHS students to inform their dates of the dress policy for the dance. SHDHS students are responsible for ensuring that their dates adhere to the stated dress policies.
- Students are expected to abide by the dress policy throughout the duration of the dance.

Crusader of the Week
9/13-9/17
Mr. Avina nominates Sam Lunnemann Crusader of the Week for Chorus. Sam is and has been an active participant from the first day of classes this year. He not only watches, but also listens well to those around him when we dig into new music. Sam has not been afraid to push his abilities, stretch his range during warmups and bring a solid, confident male voice to the baritone section of the ensemble. His dedication in the chorus has brought an energy to the group and he always sings with joy -- ISH (heavy on the ish).
Mrs. Coronado nominates Thomas Haas Crusader of the Week for Spanish II. When Tomás (his Spanish name) first came to the classroom for Spanish I, slightly over a year ago, he expressed his doubts and trepidations about starting his Spanish journey. What is impressive about Thomas is that even though he had some hesitations about learning Spanish he was able to look past this hurdle and moved confidently forward to the point where he is today, not only an excellent Spanish student but a class leader and general pleasure and inspiration to be around. Vamos Tomás!
