They got to keep their best two pieces and enjoyed a lasagna and macaroni lunch cooked in the kiln!  EMPOWERING GOD'S CHILDREN SHDHS will be administering the spring semester Empowering God’s Children® training sessions to freshmen, sophomores, and juniors on Friday, April 4. We ask that parents fill out the following permission form by Wednesday, April 2 if they wish to opt their student(s) out of the training. If the form is not filled out, the student will be assumed to be opted in. Digital Permission Form PURPOSE: Empowering God’s Children® is an age-appropriate comprehensive program through which educators (teachers, catechists and youth ministers) and parents can give children and youth the tools they need to protect themselves and know what to do if someone tries to violate their boundaries. Each year, the program provides a theme that introduces and builds on the basic concepts of the Teaching Boundaries and Safety Guide. SHDHS students showed off their skills this week at the annual Talent Show. These brave young men and women got up in front of the whole school to share their God-given talents.  Way to go CRU! Several art students are participating in a new school mural located in the 400 hallway. Beginning stages of base coats started last week and will develop into a large scale mural about our five pillars set to be complete by July 2025! CRUSADER OF THE WEEK Mr. Wyatt nominates Sophomore Sam Dirksing for Crusader of the Week for Advanced Band. "Sam works hard to be prepared for rehearsals and to play his parts correctly.  He is confident in asking questions or for clarification when necessary.  Each day he is 100% engaged and helpful to all those around him.  He is an asset to the band and a gift to the Crusader family.  Congratulations Sam!!" Mrs. Coronado nominates Freshman Anna Bain for Crusader of the Week for Spanish I. "Every day, students walk into my class ready to go, but Anna always brings that positive energy, for real. It totally brightens up my day as a teacher. Her major vibes just radiate to everyone around her. And she's always watching out for her older brother in class, even though he might not show it, you know he's grateful for it! I also want to give her props for her taste in hispanic tunes. Natalia, keep being a real one, lo estás haciendo súper bien."

Click “Apply for a Scholarship” and enter student information. Select your student’s grade level to view eligible scholarships. Complete the application—some require essays, while others need only FACTS submission. Yearbook prices are now $72 until May 23rd. On May 23rd, prices will go up again, so get your yearbook today!  DRIVERS LICENSE COMPLIANCE VERFICATION If your Student is scheduled to take the Written Drivers Test during Spring Break (April 17-26), please be sure to have them come to the Front Office to get their School Compliance Verification (No Pass/No Drive Law) Form BEFORE we leave for Spring Break.  The Office will be closed during this time therefore the form will not be available.  Your student will NOT be able to take the Written Test without this Form. SHDHS is asking ALL families to complete the FACTS Financial Aid application for the 25-26 School Year The FACTS Financial Aid application opened on January 6, 2025. We are asking that all SHDHS families complete this application regardless of need. In doing so, you will help our school receive funding to help lower the cost of education for all students. Applicants can use 2023 Tax returns and 2024 W-2. We ask that all families submit their applications by April 1, 2025. For those families that apply and qualify for financial aid, the first round of award notifications will be made on April 30, 2025. Applications must be completed and verified by April 1 to be considered for the first round of awards. Applications must be completed every year, awards do not roll over from the previous year. SHDHS seniors and juniors are invited to the 2025 Prom. These students can invite guests from SHDHS or other schools if the guest is a sophomore, junior, senior, or 2024 high school graduate. Parents should complete the form linked here to buy tickets. Digital tickets will be emailed during the week leading up to the event; hopefully, this will be more convenient as attendees will not have to keep track of the tickets. SENIORS - CLASS OF 2025

SENIOR MASS Reminder that Senior Mass at the Cathedral is Friday, April 4.  Seniors MUST be in uniform even though this is a First Friday. SENIOR CRUSADER EN BLANC - NEXT FRIDAY, APRIL 4 Doors will open at 4:30pm with the event starting promptly at 5pm. Parents are invited from 5pm until about 6/6:30. All students wear white. Parents do not have to wear white, but are encouraged to do so. Usually, about half the parents wear white. The time with parents will consist of the presentation of the senior class, superlatives, live entertainment, class video, and future video. After those events, parents will leave and students will head to the cafeteria for dinner and games with lots of fun prizes! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND MAKING THIS A MEMORABLE NIGHT FOR OUR SENIORS! ACADEMIC SIGNING The Counseling Department will host the 3rd annual Academic Scholarship Signing on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 1:00 pm in the Drees Homes Auditorium.  Graduating seniors who meet one or both of the following criteria are eligible to participate in the Academic Scholarship Signing: The student is accepted to a university with an admissions rate of 50% or less and plans to enroll at that university. The student earned a merit-based scholarship and/or athletic scholarship worth 50% or more of the listed tuition price, and the student plans to enroll at that university.  *The total amount of scholarships awarded does not include the KEES scholarship or any other need-based financial assistance. Seniors who meet one or both of the criteria listed above need to notify Billy Sarge in the Counseling Department no later than Tuesday, April 1, 2025. IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR ALL SENIOR PARENTS Every year, St. Henry compiles a list of all scholarships that are awarded to the graduating class. Seniors have been instructed to submit a copy of all scholarship notifications to Billy Sarge. SUMMER MATH ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM The Math program is designed to enhance math skills and remediate basic math concepts to better position students for the school year. The program provides support for those needing to review Algebra I.  Register here. Dates: starting July 8 & 10, July 15 & 17, July 22 & 24, July 29 & July 31 Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am – 11:00 am Cost: $225.00 SUMMER ENGLISH ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM The English summer enhancement program is designed to reinforce students’ skills essential for a successful transition into a high-school-level class. Students will practice critical reading techniques such as close reading, note-taking, and annotating to increase comprehension. Additionally, students will incorporate writing tools to communicate, develop, and support ideas effectively in an organized and focused manner.  Register Here. ST. ELIZABETH M.O.O.N PROGRAM St. Elizabeth is excited to once again be offering a unique experience for high school students.  The M.O.O.N. Program (Medical – Observation – Opportunity – Network) exposes high school students to Physician and Advanced Practice Provider (APP) career options through observation of various practitioners in the office setting, inpatient/outpatient areas, and in the operating room. These observations are accompanied by hands-on activities, panel discussions, and other great learning experiences. St. Elizabeth has an application and selection process that will be used to determine participants for the program.
