Dear Cru Families,
As we near the end of the 2024–2025 school year, I’m filled with gratitude for our students, faculty, staff, and families. Each day, we’re blessed to grow in faith and community together.
Beginning next year, we will conclude our daily prayer with “St. Henry, pray for us.” St. Henry, King of Germany and Holy Roman Emperor is known for using his leadership to strengthen the Catholic faith. I ask that you keep our students and staff—especially our seniors—in your prayers as we close out the school year.
This year brought many highlights: retreats, leadership events, state tournaments, field trips, and strong academic success. We celebrated multiple Governor’s Scholars, welcomed 165 new students—our largest class ever—and continued leading the region in AP and AAIMS programs. These accomplishments reflect the commitment of our teachers and the support of you and our families.
Looking ahead to 2025–2026, tuition will increase by 3% and fees by $25. We remain committed to making Catholic education accessible through financial aid, scholarships, and our summer work-study program. For questions, please get in touch with Connie Cornett at ccornett@shdhs.org.
You can view the updated tuition rates here.
Wishing you a restful Spring Break and a joyful Easter season.
Blessings,
Grant Brannen
Principal, St. Henry District High School

Walk-In Cooler Update – Thank You!
With gratitude and excitement, we’re happy to share an incredible update!
Just one week after the Cru Bid & Bash: An Emerald & Gold Soiree , our walk-in cooler officially went out. But thanks to the overwhelming support of our families through the Fund-A-Need, we were able to replace it immediately—without hesitation.
Because of your generosity, the new cooler was ordered and installed right away, ensuring our kitchen could continue serving fresh, safe meals without disruption.
We are so grateful to each and every one of you who helped make this possible. Your support truly makes a difference.
Thank you again!

Congratulations to Luke Jankowski for his success at the NAQT 2025 Individual Player National Championship Tournament in Chicago. Luke earned an invitation to this prestigious tournament due to his performance during an earlier team tournament. He placed 106th out of 251 students in the nation. Additionally, only two other students from Kentucky ranked higher than him.

The freshman health classes put their studies into action with an interactive activity focused on lung health. After learning about the heart and lungs, students measured their vital lung capacity using balloons and rulers. This engaging activity helped students better understand how their lungs work and why lung capacity is an important part of overall health.

A Cru family traveled to Colombia last summer to serve the poor on a remote island near Cartagena. They brought clothes, soccer shoes, and uniforms to share with needy families. The Colombian kids were especially excited to get shoes, as most of them play sports barefoot.
This year we’re collecting used items that you and your family no longer want or need. We’d appreciate athletic shoes (running shoes, soccer & baseball cleats), athletic shorts, t-shirts/jerseys/athletic shirts, uniforms, deflated balls (any sport), bats, baseballs, baseball gloves, goalie gloves, shin guards, socks, sandals, and flip flops.
The kids that live in these impoverished areas are very athletic but also very poor. If given the opportunity, some of them might make a career of sports like baseball and soccer. This would help them, and their communities, rise out of poverty at some level. This simple project can make a big difference to a lot of people in need.
We’ll be sure to send you updates and share pictures of kids and teens receiving your donations! We are one body in Christ. Your generosity is appreciated.
The SHDHS Athletic Department will be accepting donations both in their office and here at the SHAC. Please drop the items in the blue box in the lobby.
Donations will be accepted until Tuesday, June 3.
CRUSADER OF THE WEEK

Mrs. Fugate nominates Senior Adam Lubert for Crusader of the Week for Dual Credit Psychology.
"Adam's innate knowledge and interest in all things psychology is a gift to the entire class! His insightful yet sometimes unusual questions keep us all on our toes! Adam, thank you for being engaged and ready to learn each and every day! You are a pleasure to teach!"
Mrs. Vieth nominates Freshman Stella Flick for Crusader of the Week for English I Honors.
"The shift from middle school to high school is a time fraught with not only uncertainty and anxiety, but also excitement, and hope. For many freshmen, the need to organize their time so they can complete homework, study for tests, write research papers, participate in extracurriculars, and hang out with friends becomes paramount. However, there are those who meet the challenge and thrive, and Stella Flick is one of those students. First and foremost, Stella loves to read for pleasure and tries to make it a priority. That love translates into the English I Honors class as she immerses herself in the literature we study, engages in the class discussions and Socratic seminars, and works hard to improve her skills. She collaborates well with her peers on group projects, and treats her classmates with kindness and respect. She is a pleasure to have in class. Congratulations, Stella!"
