Tuesday For Teachers - Spotlight on the Math Department
Algebra I Honors/College Prep I & II: Freshmen build a strong foundation in algebraic expressions, linear and quadratic equations, inequalities, polynomials, exponents, functions, and systems of equations. Geometry Honors/College Prep I & II: Sophomores focus on geometric concepts through project-based learning, exploring topics like multi-dimensional geometry, trigonometry, and circles. Algebra II Honors/College Prep I & II: Juniors expand on Algebra I concepts, including absolute value, linear systems, functions, matrices, complex numbers, and trigonometry. Precalculus Honors/Precalculus: Designed for students planning to take AP Calculus, this course covers functions, trigonometry, polynomials, number patterns, graphs, and problem-solving techniques. AP Calculus: Seniors interested in engineering, medicine, or sciences prepare for the AP exam, diving into advanced calculus concepts. AP Statistics: Students explore statistics, probability, normal distributions, sampling, and significance tests, with the opportunity to take the AP exam. Advanced Topics in Mathematics: Focuses on real-world applications of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, including statistics, financial math, banking, budgeting, and investing.
