Lunch Menu Upcoming Events Athletics Alumni

On August 7, St. Henry District High School proudly welcomed 155 freshmen and their families to campus for New CRU & Parent Orientation. While parents gathered in the auditorium to meet administrators, counselors, and our AAIMS (Academic Achievement Intervention & Mentoring Support) team, learning about PowerSchool, Schoology, CCC, and other resources, students headed to the gym for a fun and spirited start to their high school journey. Freshmen teamed up with teachers for a scavenger hunt that helped them explore the school, learn the school song, and master a few CRU spirit chants. Our Student Ambassadors were on hand to greet the newest members of our community, making sure each student had a friendly face to look for on the first day of school. It was a night full of excitement, energy, and connection—setting the tone for an incredible year ahead. Go CRU!  Student Council members gathered for an overnight retreat last weekend in order to prepare for the upcoming year. The students and moderators are excited for another jam-packed Fall Semester! Sam Dirksing (11)  teamed up with the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission  for his Eagle Scout Project. Read more about his project  here. Messenger Article  Congratulations Sam! 33 SHDHS travelers made their way to Germany this past June to explore cities like Munich, Berlin, Rothenburg, and Heidelberg. Stops included the Neuschwanstein Castle, Berlin Wall, and Dachau Concentration Camp to name a few. Students were extremely well behaved, learned a lot about German culture, and tried a lot of amazing food. Please email Ms. Brady (kmbrady@shdhs.org) if you are interested in our next trip to AUSTRALIA!  The week before school began, the faculty participated in back-to-school professional development to prepare for the year ahead. Activities included attending Mass at the Cathedral, completing CPR training, taking part in teacher mentor meetings, receiving SHDHS department updates, and hearing from guest keynote speaker Dr. Jared Horvath. These events helped the faculty get ready to welcome students back for the first day of school. The SHDHS community is looking forward to the first Friday Night Lights in school history on Friday, August 22, when the Crusaders face the Holy Cross Indians. PICTURE DAY Picture Day is scheduled for Wednesday, August 20 during the school day. All students will have their photo taken for Student ID purposes. Parent Advisory Board Representation Needed We need you! The Parent Advisory Board consists of two members from each of the feeder school parishes. The purpose of the board is to be a support for the school leadership providing decision-making advice and recommendations. We are seeking representatives from All Saints (2), Mary Queen of Heaven (2), St Paul (1), and Cristo Rey (2). Please prayerfully consider joining us. PAMPERED CHEF FUNDRAISER Our Pampered Chef SHDHS/FEC fundraiser is up and running.  This is the easiest fundraiser we do! Here is the link to order!   Remember all orders are shipped directly to you at the time of your order.  The sale is open through August 31 and SHDHS/FEC gets 30% of all sales!  There are so many great food prep and entertaining/serving items that make great gifts.  Please share the link with family, friends, and neighbors.  Thank you for your support! NEW THIS YEAR!  CRU VIP TENT The Advancement Department, Family Engagement Council (FEC), and Athletics are partnering to host an incredible on-the-field VIP experience for our SHDHS Corporate sponsors and their guests at each Varsity Football Home Game this fall.  We need 6 adults to assist the Student Ambassadors at each home game. Responsibilities include: Set-Up (3 VIP Tents in the designated field location, tables/chairs/pub tables, signage, etc) Tear-Down (same as above in reverse!) Assist students with food preparation and serving tasks, including popping and bagging popcorn, wrapping and distributing hot dogs or other event-specific foods, as well as filling and icing coolers with beverages. Tidy up the tents/tables throughout the game Check-In/Greet VIP guests Gatekeeping the VIP Tent area Ensure all adults/students stay off the field of play This is an awesome opportunity to have a great view of the game in between fulfilling obligations!  Sign up here! POST LABOR DAY BINGO FUNDRAISER - September 6 This Daytime Bingo is a huge fundraising source and necessary for free events and school support to continue!  Volunteers are needed to work the door, sell pull-tabs, sell concessions, paymaster, etc.  This will be a DAYTIME Bingo so everyone will be free for evening plans! Sign Up Here and spread the word to help us get volunteers (the more pulltab seller volunteers we have, the more we make) - thank you!   CRUnite HOMECOMING TAILGATE The FEC will once again be partnering with the Advancement Department to host a Homecoming Tailgate before the Varsity Football Homecoming Game on October 2 from 4-6pm.  Advancement/Enrollment will invite area 7th/8th grade students as well as current SHDHS students.  Yard games will be provided along with hot dogs/hamburgers/chips/drinks.  Dessert trucks will be available for purchase.  We need someone to chair this event for the FEC side of things along with lots of volunteers to help with food prep, grilling, wrapping, serving, etc.  Student Ambassadors/Advancement will also be working the event and taking care of checking in Junior High student guests and monitoring the yard games. SERVICE HOURS REQUIRED If you have any questions about Service Hours, please direct your questions to Mrs. Poat at anniepoat@shdhs.org. Incoming freshmen should keep a personal record of the service they do. Keep a record of (1) the agency you served with, (2) the number of hours you served for, and (3) the contact information (email or phone number) of somebody at the agency who can confirm your presence. When you arrive at school, we will help you set up a MobileServe account associated with SHDHS and will help you log any summer service hours. Service Terminology Red Hours - Onsite, direct service benefiting people who are disadvantaged (poor, vulnerable, and marginalized in society)  through non-profit agencies. Examples: Mary Rose Mission, Special Olympics, St. Vincent DePaul, Mission Trips, Nursing Homes, Hospitals, Urban Education centers, Pro-Life Events, Rose Garden Mission, Redwood, GoPantry, Master Provisions, etc. White Hours - Onsite, direct service benefiting a parish, school, diocese, or civic group.
