Ronald Auer, Riley Clark, Isaac Cripe, Samuel Dirksing, Samuel Haubner, Madeline Mast, Kayleigh McCormack, Liam McCormack, Taylor Morgan, Gwendolyn Ogonek, Josephine Powers, Charles Ray, Aneesh Sehgal, Levi Talbert, and Lauren Taylor.

This past month, we were honored to host three exchange students from the Canary Islands, who were selected by the organization LiveNLearn to receive a scholarship for a one-month visit to the United States.
Valeria, Enrique, and Daniel visited the Spanish 3 class, engaging with students through a series of questions aligned with the current unit and projects. During their visit, the exchange students shared their perspectives, preferences, and favorite activities, as well as offered brief comparisons between the United States and Spain.
¡Gracias, chicos!

Hiding in Plain Sight: 7-OH Products | FDA
It’s extremely difficult to navigate the safety hazards our students face in 2025. Many of these dangers are hiding in plain sight. Gas stations, retail stores, and vape shops sell products that are clearly marketed to appeal to our youth. One of those is 7-hydroxymitragynine (commonly known as “7-OH”). “7-OH” has great potential for addiction and binds to opioid receptors. It is sold in various forms such as tablets, gummies, drinks, and shots. One example is “Feel Free.” The beverage is marketed as a "plant-based herbal supplement" that can elevate mood, energy, and focus. Please talk to your kids about the risk of addiction or overdose from these seemingly harmless products.

CRUSADER OF THE WEEK
|

Ms. Brady nominated Junior Kayleigh McCormack for Crusader of the Week in AP United States History.
"Although it's early in the school year, and there are several students who could easily be honored with this award, there was one student who has consistently brought a 'ready to learn' attitude, top-notch work ethic, and a sunny disposition to the classroom that inspires both her classmates as well as her teacher. That student is Kayleigh McCormack. Kayleigh has thus far demonstrated herself to be a true APUSH all-star. Ms. Brady notes that her written work is thorough and in step with AP skills and standards, her class responses are thoughtful and demonstrate that she has remained engaged and on topic, and she has also not been afraid to bring a creative element to her presentations and projects. Congratulations, Kayleigh. Keep being awesome!"
Mrs. Vieth nominated Senior Jack Lewis for Crusader of the Week in AP Literature.
"The students in the AP Lit class compose a group who has committed itself to being challenged and studying the human condition through great works of literature. Jack Lewis demonstrates that commitment, demonstrating an insightful understanding of the texts, sharing his ideas with the class, and facing challenges head-on. Furthermore, he works well with his classmates, and offers supportive commentary in writing groups as well as in discussion. He is a pleasure to have in class. Congratulations, Jack!"

VIP SPONSOR TENT HELP
As you may have seen at the recent Friday Night Lights games, we have an on-field VIP Tent Experience for our amazing corporate sponsors. After the first couple of games, we have fine-tuned our volunteer needs. Please consider helping out in one of the ways outlined below. thank you!
- (2-3) volunteers from 6-9pm to work the VIP tents - tidy up tables, make sure guests remain within the designated areas, refill beverage coolers/snack bins as needed
- (10) able-bodied adult volunteers starting at the end of the 4th quarter to help take down the tables/chairs/tents and walk them back up to the Auditorium Lobby - this has been a real struggle for our staff/students (many who have been working since the start of the school day) to get this done after each game.
