Congratulations to SHDHS Girls Golf Team members, Reese Anthony, Alexis Fassbender, and Ari Burton, who played in the First Round of the State Golf Tournament on Monday. Reese qualified to participate in the finals of the State Tournament to be held in Bowling Green next week.
Congratulations to Parker Isaacs, of the SHDHS Boys Golf team, who will participate in the finals of the State Tournament to be held in Bowling Green, October 9-11.

The Cru 101 students, led by Mrs. Mary Sargent, embarked on a week of Monopoly games! To target financial planning and budgeting, students learned how to use a spreadsheet to track income, expenses, assets, and liabilities during play, all while using collaborative skills of fair play, negotiation, and peer accountability. And when an unexpected hurricane threatened their Monopoly game, they had to make tough decisions about property insurance and risk-taking. Go Cru 101!

CRUSADER OF THE WEEK
|

Mr. Trame nominated Freshman Jack Alston for Crusader of the Week in Physical Education.
"Freshman, Jack Alston, has done an outstanding job in every aspect of our Physical Education Class. Jack has been exemplary in following rules and procedures. He is always where he's supposed to be when he's supposed to be there. Jack unfailingly abides by our three rules for success. He does what's right. He does his best all the time. He treats his classmates with dignity and respect. There's more! Jack is always going the extra mile, offering help and assistance at all times. Jack Alston most certainly excels in our three core values of CRU Faith, CRU Respect, and CRU Grit!! Congratulations, Jack Alston!!!"
Mr. Denning nominated Senior AJ Ray for Crusader of the Week in Computer Science Honors.
"Throughout the semester, AJ has been up for exploring what programs are capable of, often working independently to figure out how to implement his ideas. He has participated in class discussions of new topics, offering his analysis of how a particular section of code works and asking questions about situations beyond what the examples show. Thank you, AJ, for demonstrating what is possible and helping others explore!"

On Tuesday, November 11, St Henry District High School will be honoring our local military veterans for Veterans Day 2025. This is an invitation to veterans who are family members or friends of our students and staff. Our celebration will start at 1:45 in the auditorium.
In order to make this event a success, we would like to have the names of veterans who plan to attend this celebration. A veteran is any military personnel who has served or is currently serving our country in any branch of the Armed Forces.
St. Henry District High School is very excited about this event, as our students wish to acknowledge the devotion and sacrifice our men and women have given to our country.
Please contact Mr. Wyatt (twyatt@shdhs.org) to make a reservation with the following information:
- Name of Veteran
- Branch of the Military
- Years of Service
- Student Contact or relative at SHDHS.

COUNSELORS
|
Juniors - Class of 2027
This week in their English classes, Juniors received the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA) Getting In books. Students were told to take the books home for their families to use as a guide when researching post-secondary options and affordability.
College Application Deadlines
Families should check in with their seniors about upcoming admission and scholarship deadlines - several in October, November, and December. An email went out to seniors on Tuesday as a follow-up to other emails and classroom presentations in regards to deadlines and other items. Please contact Billy Sarge in the Counseling Department if you have any questions.
SENIOR FINANCIAL AID NIGHT
WHO: Class of 2026 and Guardians
WHAT: Financial Aid Night
WHEN: Thursday, October 16, 2025
TIME: 6 pm
WHERE: SHDHS - Drees Homes Auditorium
AGENDA: The Director of Financial Aid from Thomas More University will be here to discuss the financial aid process and FAFSA application for all colleges and universities (not only TMU).
NOTES: The Federal Government has made changes again this year to the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and the federal aid program that will affect current college students and high school seniors filing the FAFSA for the first time.
Students and guardians should attend this presentation if they are seeking any form of need-based financial assistance to pay for college (federal grants, college/university grants, student loans, parent loans, etc.).
Some colleges and universities require a student & guardians(s) / parent(s) to file the FAFSA before awarding a merit-based scholarship. Every college has its policies and procedures when it comes to merit-based scholarships. Students and parent(s) should contact each college's admissions and/or financial aid office to ensure you understand their policies.
If you have questions, please contact Billy Sarge in the SHDHS Counseling Department at bsarge@shdhs.org or 859.525.0255 x 2823

VIP SPONSOR TENT HELP
As you may have seen at the recent Friday Night Lights games, we have an on-field VIP Tent Experience for our amazing corporate sponsors. After the first couple of games, we have fine-tuned our volunteer needs. Please consider helping out in one of the ways outlined below. Thank you!
- (2-3) volunteers from 6-9 pm to work the VIP tents - tidy up tables, make sure guests remain within the designated areas, refill beverage coolers/snack bins as needed
- (10) able-bodied adult volunteers starting at the end of the 4th quarter to help take down the tables/chairs/tents and walk them back up to the Auditorium Lobby - this has been a real struggle for our staff/students (many who have been working since the start of the school day) to get this done after each game. PLEASE consider staying after (especially those parents waiting on their athletes after the game) to help get this done quickly! Sign Up Here!
