Due to our faculty and many of our students participating in our SHDHS Open House on November 9, there will be a Late Start on Monday, November 10.

The NHS Executive Board went to the Anthony Munoz Leadership Conference on Wednesday, October 29. They listened to presentations by Jon Sanchez, a Navy SEAL; Crystal Allen, the leader of the Boys and Girls Club of Dayton; and Robyn Burrow, Joe Burrow's mom. They also got to talk to a variety of other students from 40 other schools around the Cincinnati area. Finally, Caden Kunstek was able to speak in front of over 1500 students about his experiences and what St. Henry has done for him! It was a great day!

Mrs. VonHandorf's Art Club has historically made costumes for Halloween for the NICU patients at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. This year, with Mrs. VonHandorf's own baby, Boone, in that same place in the hospital, the art students wanted to continue the tradition. They made over 20 costumes for the babies in the hospital, ranging from crayons to Waldo to a Bengals player!

EMPOWERING GOD'S CHILDREN
SHDHS will be administering the Empowering God’s Children® training sessions to students on Monday, November 10. We ask that parents fill out the following form by Friday, November 7, only if you do not want your student to receive the instructional material during class.
Digital Opt-Out Form
PURPOSE: Empowering God’s Children® is an age-appropriate, comprehensive program through which educators (teachers, catechists, and youth ministers) and parents can give children and youth the tools they need to protect themselves and know what to do if someone tries to violate their boundaries. Each year, the program provides a theme that introduces and builds on the basic concepts of the Teaching Boundaries and Safety Guide.

Ms. Robertson nominated Sophomore Caroline Brannen for Crusader of the Week in Art 1.
"Caroline strives to improve her artwork each day in class. She asks great questions and tries to perfect her skills. Caroline also brings a joy and kindness to class. She helps out others when she can and always has something kind to say. I look forward to seeing what all Caroline will learn and accomplish in Art 1."
Mrs. Hasken nominated Junior Kristina Schmidt for Crusader of the Week in AP Spanish Language and Culture.
"Kristina is an enthusiastic learner, an active participant, a diligent worker, and a thoughtful classmate and peer. She frequently helps other students with their work, asks meaningful questions, and really goes above and beyond on all assignments. ¡Felicidades, Kristina!"

CURRENT FAMILY PRIORITY APPLICATION WINDOW
Last year, we experienced a waitlist for enrollment in several grade levels. To better serve our current families and reduce stress during the admissions process, we’re introducing a Current Family Priority Application Window for NEW students who are siblings of current SHDHS students. If you have a current student at SHDHS, you do not need to apply. Your student is automatically re-enrolled unless you tell us otherwise.
If you would like your child to join their sibling at St. Henry for the 2026-27 school year, we encourage you to submit your application between October 23 and November 9. Applications received during this window will receive priority consideration before general applications open on November 5.
Here’s how the process works:
- Apply online through our admissions portal.
- SHDHS will request academic records from your child’s current school.
- Our admissions committee will carefully review all submitted records.
- Families will be notified of acceptance decisions by mid-December.
- Accepted students complete registration by DATE.
- Enrollment is NOT finalized until the registration fee is paid and a counselor appointment is scheduled for course selection.
HIGH SCHOOL PLACEMENT PREP CLASSES
To support your child’s high school placement test preparation, we offer specialized prep classes to help students build confidence and excel in the placement test. The classes are on Tuesday, December 2 and Tuesday, December 9 from 3:30 - 5:00 pm at St. Henry District High School. Our experienced instructors will cover essential topics, ensuring your child is well-prepared for the high school placement test challenge. Please register here.
HIGH SCHOOL PLACEMENT TEST
The high school placement test is a significant milestone in your child’s academic journey. We encourage all prospective students to take the test, administered on Saturday, December 13, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, at St. Henry District High School. Students who take the test at SHDHS are qualified for a scholarship if they score in the top 10%. Students who need accommodations should contact Michele Ryan at mryan@shdhs.org.
Please take a moment to read the letter from the Most Reverend John C. Iffert regarding the significance of the HSPT.
Registration for the HSPT opens November 5, 2025. Visit shdhs.org to register.
SHADOW VISITS
We welcome prospective students to experience a day at SHDHS by shadowing a current student. The unique experience gives them a firsthand look at our classes, the chance to meet our students, and the opportunity to immerse themselves in the daily life of a Crusader. Click here to find an available date and register.

On Tuesday, November 11, St Henry District High School will honor our local military veterans on Veterans Day 2025. This is an invitation to veterans who are family members or friends of our students and staff. Our celebration will start at 1:45 in the auditorium.
To make this event a success, we would like the names of veterans who plan to attend the celebration. A veteran is any military personnel who has served or is currently serving our country in any branch of the Armed Forces.
St. Henry District High School is very excited about this event, as our students wish to acknowledge the devotion and sacrifice our men and women have given to our country.
Please contact Mr. Wyatt (twyatt@shdhs.org) to make a reservation with the following information:
- Name of Veteran
- Branch of the Military
- Years of Service
- Student Contact or relative at SHDHS.
