SHDHS Student Council and GOPantry teamed up to help provide meals to local people in need. Thanks to the generosity of our school community, we collected over 4,300 items!

Congratulations, once again, to the Academic Team for an excellent performance on Saturday, November 22! The CRU won 5 of their 6 matches, taking 2nd Place in the Northern Kentucky Academic League Quizbowl Tournament. The team was led by Luke Jankowski and consisted of Aneesh Sehgal, Noah Von Handorf, Samuel Haubner, Lucas Burton, and Ethan Lubbers. Also, congratulations to Luke Jankowski for placing 2nd individually as well, based on the toss-up questions answered!

Several students attended the National Catholic Youth Conference in Indianapolis, IN, November 21-23, and were inspired, learned more about their Catholic faith, and grew in friendships with 16,000 other people from around the United States.
Congratulations to the cast and crew of Shrek the Musical!

On Wednesday, December 3, we hosted our annual Benefactor Brunch, welcoming the families connected to our endowments and named scholarships. Guests joined us for Mass, followed by a presentation that shared the story behind each scholarship and the criteria students must meet to receive it, during which the student recipients and the benefactors present were acknowledged. Afterward, students and benefactors had the opportunity to interact and connect over a brunch reception.
Please visit this link if you would like to donate to any of our scholarship funds.:

CRUSADER OF THE WEEK
|
|
Week of November 24

Mr. Gish nominated Senior Brennan Lemmond for Crusader of the Week in Economics.
"Brennan is a true pleasure to have in class. He is always engaging in classroom discussions and helps to advance the depth of the topic. He brings a confident and humorous attitude with him each day that helps to enhance the learning experience. Brennan has a natural ability to comprehend business and financial concepts and express his theories in his class work. I look forward to seeing Brennan’s path to success when he leaves the hallways of St. Henry."
Mrs. Johnson nominated Senior Max Walden for Crusader of the Week in PreCalculus.
"Max is a great student who is always attentive in class and asks questions about the content that we are exploring. Beyond that, Max has a great attitude and is always willing to help other students and to participate in class activities. Thank you, Max, for setting a great example for others, and congratulations on being Crusader of the week."
Week of December 1

Mr. Denning nominated Senior Hunter Strasinger for Crusader of the Week in Government.
"Throughout the year, Hunter has made class go a bit faster by engaging in conversations about class topics. His questions and responses demonstrate consideration of issues and how they can be applied outside the classroom walls. He also works well with others to explore issues and explain the reasoning behind arguments. Thanks, Hunter!"
Mr. Wyatt nominated Sophomore Lucas Jara for Crusader of the Week in Beginning Band.
"Lucas works hard to be prepared for rehearsals and play his part(s) correctly. He is confident in asking questions or for clarification when necessary. Lucas makes an effort to help out by volunteering to help with various tasks necessary for beginning band performances. Each day, he is 100% engaged and helpful to all those around him. He is an asset to the band and a gift to the Crusader family. Congratulations, Lucas!!!"
Mrs. Coronado nominated Freshman Adelyn Hartwig for Crusader of the Week in Spanish I Honors.
"When I begin each school year, I face the challenge of getting to know every single one of my new students. This year, that was easy, because from day one, you stood out. You are not only an exceptional student but also a charismatic, empathetic, and humble young lady.
The way you advocate for yourself and your classmates truly makes a difference. You are going to go far in life. I say that with absolute confidence because of your outstanding attitude, your constant positivity even on days you don’t feel your best, and your dedication to giving 200% every single day.
I thank God every morning for the blessing of teaching my first-period Honors class, and you, Adriana, are a big reason why. How someone your age can make a teacher feel so welcomed and create such a safe, uplifting space is truly remarkable.
Thank you for being a fantastic mentor to me and for being such a joyful, refreshing soul. It is a privilege to teach you. Mil gracias, Adriana."
