La Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica carried out an incredible service project supporting children in need who live near our school during the Christmas season. Members first completed volunteer hours by wrapping more than 500 gifts. They then attended a posada organized by the FIESTA organization, where they helped organize the children and distribute gifts according to age.
In addition, the society adopted three families facing significant financial need and collected thoughtful gifts for each household. Our president, Mateo Felix Chagoya, personally delivered the gifts to the families’ homes.
The service efforts concluded with support for Día de Reyes celebrations at the Covington Library. Members helped organize the event, distributed additional gifts, shared the traditional Rosca de Reyes, and enjoyed breaking piñatas with children and their families. This project reflects the Hispanic Honor Society’s strong commitment to service, culture, and community engagement.
