Recently, a team of five SHDHS seniors braved a blizzard and competed in the Cincinnati Ethics Bowl hosted by UC. For this event, they researched nearly a dozen case studies in preparation to debate against other schools from Greater Cincinnati. While they did find some success, despite this being the first time SHDHS has ever competed in this, they did not make it to the final rounds.
When asked why he wanted to be a part of the Ethics Debate Team, senior Ian Schneidt said: "I chose to compete in the ethics bowl not only to sharpen my debating and communication skills, but also to deepen my understanding of the many ethical issues surrounding us today and how humanity can solve them effectively and ethically."

CRUSADER OF THE WEEK
|
|

Mrs. Robertson nominated Sophomore Ben Holian for Crusader of the Week in Art 2.
"Ben is a joy to have in class and always has a great attitude. He is very talented and a great artist, and a classmate to others. He enjoys his projects and always works hard to improve his artistic skills. He never gives up on his work and is willing to try new techniques and ask questions to create the best piece he can. I have been very lucky to see Ben's progress in class and get to know him. I hope he continues with art class throughout his high school career."
Mrs. Kaiser-Munday nominated Sophomore Chris Crawford for Crusader of the Week in AP World History.
"Chris always comes in with a smile, a hello, and a cheerful disposition that makes first period a joy. He has great questions, works well with his classmates, participates, and adds to our class discussion in fantastic ways. He is generous and kind to those inside and outside the classroom, and he wants the world to be a better place because of his involvement. Thanks, Chris, for being a history maker, and we can’t wait to see what you do!"
