Dear Cru Community,

We are excited to announce the rebranding of our St. Henry District High School Hall of Fame beginning in 2026. In our SHDHS questionnaire this past fall regarding the possibility of moving toward an Athletic Hall of Fame model, we received over 220 responses! The majority were supportive. Some expressed concerns about the change and how we would continue to honor past inductees.

It is important to emphasize: once a SHDHS Hall of Famer, always an SHDHS Hall of Famer. This aligns perfectly with our motto — Once a Crusader, always a Crusader.

With great enthusiasm, we are moving forward with a rebranded Hall of Fame that will recognize athletics, while also continuing to provide special recognition for community members and individuals who have given outstanding service to SHDHS. After forming a committee and gathering community input, we believe this structure is the best path forward. Again, once you are in the Hall of Fame, you will always remain in the Hall of Fame.

Any coach, player, alum, or community member who has made a meaningful impact on St. Henry District High School may be nominated. A nominee does not have to be a graduate to be considered.

One of the primary reasons for this rebranding is to provide a fresh look and renewed energy to the event. Many may not realize that we have not held Hall of Fame inductions in the past three years due to low attendance. We believe that revitalizing the structure and involving the broader community in the nomination process will help reestablish this as a special and well-attended tradition. Our goal is to create an outstanding event that properly honors those who have made a lasting impact on SHDHS.

SHDHS has established a web page under Athletics titled “SHDHS Athletic Hall of Fame.” Click on this link https://shdhs.org/st-henry-hall-of-of-fame/  to view past inductees, directions for the nomination process, and the nomination form. Please submit your nominations by April 15, 2026. SHDHS has established a Hall of Fame Committee composed of alumni, staff, and community members.

In the near future, we will announce the first class of inductees under this rebranded model. They will be honored during what we are calling Crusader Homecoming and Hall of Fame Week. Inductees will be recognized at the football game on October 14, followed by a formal ceremony at SHDHS on October 16.
