At our Crusader Knight of Giving, “Starry Night” on Saturday, March 21, our Fund-a-Need focused on an important campus improvement project: resurfacing our parking lots.
This is a major undertaking, with the full project expected to cost more than $150,000, so it will need to be completed in phases. Thanks to the generosity of those who gave at Starry Night, we have already raised $30,000 to help get this project started.
Now, over the next two weeks, we are asking our school community to help us continue building momentum so we can begin Phase 1 as soon as possible.
We are especially proud that the video created for this appeal was written, filmed, and produced by our students in the Broadcasting class, with support from St. Henry District High School alumni Steve Neace and Josh Pilcher, owners of Just Sayin’ Digital Marketing.
Support the 2026 Fund-a-Need
Every gift makes a difference, and any amount helps as we work to improve our campus for students, families, and visitors.
Thank you for your continued support of SHDHS.

Mady Lux completed the Regional Youth Leadership program for the 2025-26 school year. Admission to this program is highly selective, with only 50 students from the Cincinnati region selected. Modeled after Leadership Northern Kentucky, Regional Youth Leadership (RYL) is a community leadership development program for high school juniors in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. The 7-month program is a series of sessions held monthly during the school day from September through March, focusing on different topics that inform and strengthen student awareness of the opportunities that exist in our region. Students took an in-depth look at a variety of topics, including economic development, healthcare, human services, non-profits, local government, and the judicial system.

The SHDHS Academic Team did a great job at the Governor's Cup State Finals over the weekend! This team of four sophomores (Luke, Aneesh, Samuel, and Noah) did an amazing job in Quick Recall matches against the best in the state. Their ending record was 2-3, and the losses were incredibly close! They certainly were not out-classed! Additionally, Luke Jankowski pulled off his 2nd consecutive Top Ten performance on the High School Social Studies test!

Mr. VB’s inaugural “Intro to Robotics” class braved the elements: hydrogen and oxygen (in the form of falling snow) and traveled to Georgetown, Kentucky to tour the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky (TMMK) plant the morning of Tuesday, March 17, picking up a weather-stranded SHDHS student along the way (northbound I-75 was closed due to an accident). The tour was really an eye-opener and confirmed much of what the students are learning in class. We saw robots lifting, painting, welding, and transporting parts, which eventually come together to make Toyota Camrys. The plant employs over 1500 robots—none of which resemble humans—and nearly 10,000 workers in a plant the size of 156 football fields. The students enjoyed a lunch at Five Guys Burgers and Fries in Florence before heading back to school. Special thanks to Mr. Steve Bolin of Bolin Robotics, who co-chaperoned the trip.

Juniors completed their study of The Great Gatsby through an immersive experience from start to finish! Students explored the 1920s and made predictions about the novel using a gallery walk.
Our classroom transformed into New York City, West Egg, East Egg, and the Valley of Ashes, and students selected objects each day to determine seating and connect to the novel.
Throughout the unit, students analyzed characters, symbolism, and the American Dream. We concluded by reading Gatsby’s funeral together, prompting reflection on the cost of chasing the American Dream.

The AP Human Geography class recently completed their annual Rostow Cup- a competition where students select countries and face off based on certain demographic factors like GDP, life expectancy, and natural increase rate. It was a hard-fought fight, but Japan came out victorious! The students who selected Japan were able to sign the cup in 204!

The Spanish 3 class is exploring the culture of one of the safest places in the Americas: Costa Rica. We had the opportunity to invite a Costa Rican parent, Dora Magge, to speak with our class and share her personal experiences growing up in Costa Rica, including insights into the country’s food and traditions. She also brought beautiful souvenirs to show the students and generously shared traditional cookies with the class.
