Dear Cru Families,

St. Henry District High School is committed to the well-being of every student through our faith, safety, and academic excellence. I am writing to inform you that one of our Religion teachers, Mr. Doug Hudson, has been named in a recently filed civil lawsuit in Wyoming alleging sexual misconduct. The allegations are said to have occurred over 30 years ago, in Wyoming, well before his employment at SHDHS. It is important to stress that allegations in a lawsuit are only allegations, and at this time, there has been no judicial determination as to the truth or falsity of the allegations.  In our discussions with Mr. Hudson, he has denied the allegations. 

At no time were any St. Henry District High students involved in these allegations.

In view of the allegations in the lawsuit, we have placed Mr. Hudson on paid administrative leave. Out of care for our community and all involved, he will not be on campus or attend school‑sponsored events while the legal process continues.

Allegations of this nature are deeply concerning, and we are mindful of the profound harm abuse causes to victims and their families. At the same time, we recognize that these matters involve unproven allegations that must be addressed through the appropriate legal process. We will remain attentive as this situation unfolds and will reassess as additional facts become available.

This news is understandably concerning to our families. You are welcome to contact the administration with any questions. 

In the meantime, Mr. John McMillen, a practicing Catholic and recently retired public school teacher, will be taking over Mr. Hudson’s classes for the remainder of the year. We would like to welcome Mr. McMillen to the Cru family.
