Congratulations to Kate Quinn for being selected to attend the Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts (GSA), a prestigious three-week summer residency designed to elevate Kentucky’s most promising young artists.

KAAC Region All-Star Team
The Region 8 All-Star Team just won the new KAAC All-Star Tournament! Crusaders Luke Jankowski and Aneesh Sehgal teamed up with three students from other schools in Region 8 for this inaugural competition. In a whirlwind tournament of multiple rounds and a very different style of play, these All-Stars made their way through the pool play and bracket stages, taking out neighboring Region 9 in the championship match. Each of the players on the winning team was rewarded with a $300 scholarship! Great job, Crusaders!

The 2026 Talent Show occurred on Monday, April 20, featuring an impressive lineup of student performances. Emcees Evan Parhad and Ben Gulla steered the show with a steady stream of corny jokes, perfectly punctuated by Ian Bowman’s well-timed drum "stings." We enjoyed talented acts by Luke Daniels (vocal and guitar), Addison Chapa (violin), Alejandro Peralta-Gomez (Piano), Nick Petty (vocal & bass), Holly Hageman (vocal), Logan Tappy (vocal), and Claire Ferguson & Larkyn Baute (rhythm video game).

The AP Government class has begun its review for the AP exam on May 7. They are working on their creative shower curtains to review!

Emma Clineman, Leah Creed, and Sadie Egan collected 1500 books from the SHDHS community and their neighborhoods, as well as the Kenton County Public Library Friends of the Library, to donate to Glenn O. Swing School in Covington. These will help students who are in situations where they may not have regular access to reading materials. Great work!

CRUSADER OF THE WEEK
|
|

Mrs. Vaillancourt nominated Sophomore Sawyer Challis for Crusader of the Week in Honors Geometry.
"Several students could have been the Crusader of the Week for Honors Geometry this year, but one student stands out from the others through his hard work and endless determination. Sawyer Challis has gone above and beyond to succeed in Honors Geometry. He advocates for additional help before school, during class, during flex, and after school in order to fully understand every concept. I am really proud of his progress thus far and excited to see him continue to grow this year and in years to come. Not only does he work hard, but he also treats peers and teachers with respect, making him a great crusader of the week. Congratulations, Sawyer!!!"
Mr. Gish nominated Junior Lukas Noble for Crusader of the Week in Accounting I
"Lukas brings a quiet yet constructive demeanor to our class discussions and exhibits a high level of critical thinking when analyzing business financials. He is keen on interpreting accounting theory and is always willing to help other students improve their understanding of accounting concepts. Lukas displays a Christian attitude through his kindness and respect for his peers. It is truly my pleasure to have Lukas in my Accounting I class. Congratulations, Lukas."
