Campus Ministry
A Message from Campus Ministry
Prepare to Celebrate Advent as A Crusader
Advent is perhaps the most forgotten season of the year. It seems like stores and radio stations believe Christmas begins the day after Halloween and ends on December 24. As Christians, we know Advent gives us time to slow down, to reflect on the real meaning of Christmas, and to prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ. Advent begins Sunday, November 28, and ends on December 24. The season, marked with the colors of purple and pink, includes special readings, traditions like the Advent wreath, reconciliation, prayer, and service. As a school, you will notice this by our pink and purple lights in the hallway instead of red and green lights. Be on the watch for special prayer services, opportunities for confession, and service projects. Let’s celebrate Advent, not as the world does, but as a Crusader of Christ.

Crusaders of the Week
Mrs. Kaiser-Munday nominates Magdalene Jump for AP Human Geography Crusader of the Week. AP Human Geo is a difficult course for anyone but especially challenging to freshmen. Magdalene Jump has proven to have a firm grasp on the concepts that are available and is able to apply them to so many situations. She writes well and concisely but also has a sense of humor with her classmates. She is personable and kind to those around her. Magdalene has a great attitude in the midst of challenges that show up in class and is willing to work her hardest to learn how to best the test in May! Congratulations, Magdalene!
Miss Vollmer is excited to nominate Lexi McMillin for English II Crusader of the Week. Lexi has a can-do attitude. She has an immense drive to learn and do her best. She always has her hand raised and is willing to participate. She is resilient; getting a question wrong or having to be redirected does not defeat her. She jumps right back in, offering another answer or asking a question. This attitude will carry her far in her academic career and life. Way to go, Lexi!
