The Cru Cafe was a joint effort this week! Besides the cocoa bar, we celebrated the Bengals and Valentine's Day with theme-decorated rice crispy treats!
All proceeds will be donated to the National Buddy Walk Program that was established in 1995 by the National Down Syndrome Association to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness. This year’s Buddy Walk is scheduled for September 18, 2022.
Thank you to Carmen Summy, Lisa Ryle, Alivia Skidmore, Elizabeth Tabeling, Kathy Bessler, and Anna Guard for making it a success!

Crusaders of the Week
Mrs. Duff, as well as many of his peers, nominates Luke Mason for Precal Honors Crusader of the Week. The thing that stands out the most about Luke is the happy way he always enters the classroom at 7:40 am with a greeting for his teacher and his positive attitude in class. Even if she doesn't agree with his taste in music, Mrs. Duff appreciates Luke's characteristics as a student: he is willing to ask and answer questions, stays on task in class, and always completes his assignments. This quote from a classmate's nomination really stood out to help get Luke over the line as the winner: "He doesn't particularly strike me as a math geek, but the most anyone can guarantee of themselves is effort, which I believe he gives the most out of the other candidates." Congratulations, Luke! Who Dey!
Mrs. Maloney nominates sophomore Jackson Gross for Crusader of the Week for Biology. Jackson is a CRUSADER in every way. He has developed an outstanding work ethic throughout the course of the year, always doing his work diligently and on time. He is respectful, works well with all classmates, and is able to stay on task even when those around him might lose focus. Most importantly, Jackson exemplifies Christ every day in how he treats his classmates. He includes everyone and reaches out to those who need help on a regular basis. Congratulations Jackson.

Beauty And The Beast
All of these students may not look busy in the photos, but they have been working hard preparing for the SHDHS production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Cast members are learning lines, songs, blocking, and choreography, while crew members are building the set, painting, making props, etc. Two of our cast members, Wynnie Serra and Mitchell Wolking, took these photos to document the process of preparing for a large, musical production. Check out the SHDHS Fine Arts Instagram page and FaceBook group for regular content about Crusaders doing amazing things in Visual Arts, Music, and Drama. SHDHS is blessed to have so many talented Crusaders!
