What a stunning Mother's Day Crusader and Cadet Band Concert on Sunday, May 15! Many thanks to Mr. Payne and to SHDHS students who have practiced many hours to perform for our parents.
On April 30, the Boys and Girls track teams gathered at Kroger in Hebron, KY, to volunteer with the Boone County Solid Waste department “Trash for Cash” event. The team worked in groups to clean up 5 miles of heavily trafficked roadways. The “Trash for Cash” event not only helps the environment but also supports the track team with a donation of $500.
Thank you to all the Juniors and Seniors that showed up early the day after prom!

It was a very successful first year for our FEC...and we're working hard to ensure that next year is just as great (or even better). In order to do that, though, we need your input. Please take a few minutes to answer this VERY SHORT FEC survey (link below). Your feedback is invaluable and greatly appreciated. https://forms.gle/Ta6GwRaU6rFpDtuN6

Prayer to End a School Year
God of wisdom, we thank you for all the gifts you have given us throughout this school year and for the good things you have done in us. We praise you for all who have shared in the work of this school. We ask that you bless them in your love and give them refreshment and peace. Grant students the grace to stay focused academically during exams and the peace that comes from surrendering to your will. We praise you, God, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen
Dani Noll came to visit some of the senior classes. She is a 2016 alumni, and her sister Natalie and brother Nick are seniors. She came to talk about growing your faith in college and her experiences as a FOCUS missionary.
Mary’s Meals: A Simple Solution to World Hunger.
The regional representative of Mary’s Meals, Mr. Rob Turner, spoke to students, thanking them for their Lenten donation, which will feed 109 children for one year. The lesson of sustainability and the experience of solidarity, and the fruit of prayer have resulted from being involved with Mary’s Meals. We are excited to continue our relationship with Mary’s Meals. Crusader of the Week
Mrs. Von Handorf nominates Mackenzie Smith for Art II Crusader of the Week. I am nominating Mackenzie because of her consistency, time management, determination, and passion. Mackenzie strives to do her best in class day in and day out and sets a great example for her peers by wisely managing her in-class time. She often completes very creative and well-thought assignments quite a bit ahead of schedule and has a genuine desire to do a good job. She has been so much fun to have in class and is a joy to be around because of her sense of humor- she's always got a one-liner. She's also really good at landscapes. We will miss her at SHDHS next year. WAY TO ROCK, MACKENZIE!!
Mrs. Maloney is proud to nominate Christina Marsh as Crusader of the Week for Human Anatomy and Physiology. Christina's kind, caring personality is well suited for a future career in healthcare. She is diligent in her approach to learning, is always organized about assignments and testing, and is willing to tackle any assignment - including dissection - with attention to detail and a determination to learn all she can from a particular task. Even at the very early hour of 7:45 am she is pleasant, never complains, and is consistently helpful in class. She takes academic risks and is always willing to take a chance on answering challenging questions. Thanks for making such a positive contribution to our class atmosphere Christina!

The scores are confidential and will never be shared with any colleges. SHDHS uses feedback on student progress to help students and teachers work on college readiness.

Swiss Alps and Mediterranean Coast 2023
Dear families,
We are making one more push before the end of the school year for our trip next summer (2023) to the Alps and Mediterranean Coast. Please follow this link to go to our tour page, check out the itinerary, see the price options, and enroll in our tour. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students. Currently, the trip is just over half full, and we'd love to fill the remaining spots and add more if possible. Enrolling early locks in the current price and helps with more affordable payments.
If you have questions, please reach out.
