All are welcome to attend a "Seussical Kids" performance by the SHDHS Drama Camp participants at the Drees Homes Auditorium on Saturday, July 16, at 3:00 pm. Tickets are $5 at the door.
The second annual SHDHS Drama Camp was a great success! Over 20 campers and several camp counselors (current and former St. Henry students) worked all week to prepare "Seussical Kids" performance. Activities during the week included drama games, choreography, singing, a tour of the theater, and lessons about all of the jobs involved in theater: blocking, acting lessons, script writing/performing, and more. "It's a mix of fun and work," said Calvin Schnitzler, a 6th grader who plays Mr. Mayor. "They make everyone play a big part in the play." The kids worked hard and brought a lot of energy to put a whole musical together in a short amount of time. Even kids who had never performed took on the challenge and did well. "I was a little nervous at first, but then I got on stage, and it was fine," said Avery Hovan, 2nd grader, and Jungle Citizen.

Celebrating the Feast Day of St. Henry
On July 13, the Catholic Church celebrates our patron saint. Henry was a German king who led and defended Europe's Holy Roman Empire at the beginning of the first millennium, a time marked by church scandal, rebellions, and drawn-out disputes and division in all walks of life.
As king, Henry encouraged bishops to reform the practices of the Church in accordance with canon law. He brought a peaceful end to a revolt in his territory, which ended with the merciful pardoning the rebels. Henry also acted decisively, but not harshly, against an Italian nobleman who set himself up as a rival king. He consistently aided the poor and was dedicated to a life of prayer and work. Henry shows that holiness is possible in a busy secular life. It is in doing our job that we become saints.
Prayer on the Feast of St. Henry:
O God, we seek Your grace to follow the example of St. Henry, to withstand the temptations of the world, to overcome divisions, and to commit to daily prayer and service.
St. Henry, pray for us.

Summer Travels - British Isles
CRUtravelers Go Abroad…Finally!
After several years in the making and hoping, Ms. Kyla Brady and Mrs. Michelle Rudowicz-Lux took a group of students, alumni, and parents (affectionately known as the “CRUtravelers”) abroad to the British Isles and France this past June. Originally planned as the Travel Club’s 2020 summer trip, it was a joy to make this epic excursion a reality finally.
Their 17-day adventure took the group from Ireland to Wales, Scotland to England, and finally to Paris, France. They toured scenic landscapes like the Ring of Kerry and the Scottish and English countryside, visited historic castles in Blarney, Beaumaris, Edinburgh, Stirling, and Windsor, strolled through the picturesque towns of York, Stratford-upon-Avon, and Bath, kept pace in the bustling cities of Dublin, Edinburgh, London, and Paris, and experienced famous landmarks such as Trinity College, York Minster Abbey, William Shakespeare’s childhood home, Stonehenge, the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, the Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral, and of course, the Eiffel Tower. We capped their trip off with a sunset cruise on the Seine through Paris, a perfect way to say “au revoir” to an amazingly wonderful trip!
If you’d like to see more photos of these adventures in the British Isles and Paris, please visit their Instagram page @ CRUtravels. Additionally, if you’re interested in joining our trip next summer to the Alps and Mediterranean Coast, please visit the tour page by clicking here and/or reach out to Ms. Brady ([email protected]) with any questions.
