Dear Parents,

As I enter my 35th year as an educator at one of the finest schools in the state of Kentucky, and I believe in the entire country. St. Henry District High School has been my home for over half my life, and I am proud to be a Crusader. I have been truly blessed by the families who have entrusted St. Henry District High School to educate their students and the graduates who have walked the hallways on Dixie Highway and now Donaldson. Our current and future students will make a difference in our world because of your commitment to a St. Henry education.

In June 2020, Bishop Roger Foys appointed me as interim principal. Although I had over 20 years of experience in administration, nothing could have prepared me for Covid. I knew the most important decision I would make at that time would be to hire a top-notch assistant principal. Fortunately for myself and the St. Henry community, Mr. Grant Brannen was excited to join our team. Mr. Brannen, along with our outstanding faculty and staff, provided the guidance our students and families needed to continue our high academic standards while focusing on the mental health challenges of Covid.

I believe God has a different plan for me as we prepare to enter a new school year. I have been dealing with a health issue this past year and believe a change is best for myself and St. Henry. In consultation with Mrs. Kendra McGuire, Superintendent of Schools, and Bishop John C. Iffert, I have decided to retire as your principal and step back into the Assistant Principal position. I believe it is the best time for this transition since we have the top principal candidate in Northern Kentucky within our building. Bishop Iffert has approved naming Mr. Grant Brannen as interim principal for St. Henry District High School. I thank Bishop Iffert for this decision and know our St. Henry community will be in full support.

The Bible verse that has guided me since June 2020 is Esther 4:14, “Perhaps this is the moment for which you have been created.” This verse was my inspiration over the last two years and will continue to inspire me each day I enter St. Henry. I thank you for your continued support and pray for each of you as we work together to inspire young minds.

God bless.
