Dear Cru Family,

I want to thank Mr. Gish for everything he has done for SHDHS and me personally. Mr. Gish's 35 years of dedication to Catholic education and SHDHS has been invaluable. The last two years have been anything but normal, but Mr. Gish led us through a worldwide pandemic, as well as being the only high school in the state of Kentucky to receive the National Blue Ribbon Distinction. We are fortunate to have Mr. Gish as Assistant Principal to be a great resource for the students, faculty, and staff for the upcoming school year.

On behalf of my wife Anna and our two children, Caroline and Jefferson, I am thankful for the opportunity to be appointed Interim Principal for the 2022-2023 school year. I would also like to thank Bishop Iffert and Superintendent Mrs. Kendra McGuire for appointing me to lead SHDHS. Over the past two years, I have seen how special SHDHS is. This past school year, a student in my office said, “I feel safe, I can be myself without looking over my back… I love everything about St. Henry”. This quote resonated with me. This is why I love the people I work with and why SHDHS is special! SHDHS is a place where all students of diverse backgrounds are welcomed. We will continue to provide a safe learning environment while committing to providing exemplary faith-led instruction. Our goal is for students to grow spiritually, academically, and socially throughout their time here at SHDHS,

I was fortunate to visit Vatican City with my family this summer. I will never forget entering St. Peter's Basilica. Standing there in awe, I looked at my children and said, “This is us; this is who we are.” SHDHS is built upon the teachings of the Catholic church. Through our teachers and staff, we will continue to empower students and engage them in our faith daily. We will also continue to foster a culture in our Five Pillars of Success: Faith, Scholarship, Leadership, Athletics, and Arts.

The relationship between students, faculty, staff, families, and community is vital to the success of St. Henry District High School. I look forward to connecting with each of you and encourage you to be vested in what SHDHS offers.

Thank you, and God Bless.
