Dear Crusader Families,

As we head into our Thanksgiving break and I begin to reflect on what I am thankful for, my faith is at the forefront of my mind. I am grateful to be able to practice our Catholic faith daily, whether it is through prayer, mass, or reflection. Having this opportunity allows not only spiritual growth but personal growth as well.

I am thankful for my family, my wife, Anna, and our two kids, Caroline and Jefferson. We must cherish our quality time together during holiday breaks and not let the daily demands of school and work exhaust us. One of our favorite ways to spend time together is by celebrating family nights. We already have a family movie night scheduled for the Thanksgiving break. Unfortunately, my pick of watching all of the "Back to Future" movies for the twentieth time has been vetoed!

I am thankful for our students, faculty/staff, and community who have come together for mass and adoration, the blessing of our new turf field, trunk or treat, the "Wizard of Oz" musical, and the Veterans Day concert. I am thankful for the school spirit shown by attending our sporting events, anticipation, and support for our football program here at SHDHS, the direction of SHDHS, and continuing the momentum as we enter the holiday season.

Finally, I thank SHDHS parents who invest in their child's spiritual and academic growth here at SHDHS. I acknowledge the financial sacrifice you make to send your children to SHDHS, and I thank you for your investment in them.

As we near the end of the first semester, I ask you to please keep our students and faculty in your prayers as they prepare for exams. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends.

No matter what happens, always be thankful for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
