Crusaders of the Week
Morgan Mueller is Mrs. Maloney's nominee for Crusader of the Week for Anatomy Honors. In a class with many standout students, it is challenging to single out just one, but Morgan has exemplified what it means to be a Crusader in class this semester. She is diligent and determined, never misses a deadline, regularly turns in work of high quality, and demonstrates CRU grit. Over the semester, she has steadily improved her study techniques, translating into a consistent increase in Morgan's grades. More important, though, is that Morgan's compassionate disposition will benefit every patient she cares for in her future career in nursing. Congratulations Morgan!
Faith Bent was nominated for Crusader of the Week by our Campus Minister, Annie Poat. Faith is such a bright light to SHDHS. She is thoughtful and inclusive and is always the first to volunteer for anything. She has shown outstanding leadership in her freshman class and is truly an example of Jesus to others. She has gone above and beyond by dressing up as the pope for Trunk or Treat and reading for our school masses. I am personally so glad to have the opportunity to get to know her through Campus Ministry. Congrats, Faith!
Mrs. Vaillancourt nominates Nick Parnitzke for Crusader of the Week for Honors Geometry. Nick is a hard-working young man who is not afraid to ask questions and seek additional help. He puts forth 110% daily, both in the classroom and out. He is polite and kind to all those around him and happily helps fellow students when needed. Nick is a pleasure to teach and a gift to the Crusader community!! Congratulations Nick!!

Academic Showcase/Clubs
Art Club Trip to Color Me Mine
Art Club took a group of 14 kids along with Mrs. VonHandorf and Mrs. Shea to decorate ceramics pieces for Christmas. Students had the opportunity to glaze whatever item they wanted to and would receive their items back just in time for the holidays!
Robotics Team
The Saint Henry robotics team placed 3rd place in a weekend competition in Shelbyville. During the qualifying rounds of the tournament, they had a winning record of 7-1. Due to this record, they finished 5th out of 33 teams. They were able to proceed to the elimination rounds of the tournament and made it to the semifinals. This semifinal placement allowed them to finish the competition in 3rd place. This was their first competition of the year. Also, this is their first competition with their new coach, Brian Smith. Mr. Smith has previous experience with VEX robotics and ran the Mary Queen of Heaven team. He has brought his skills and knowledge over to Saint Henry and has helped revive the club. He has taught the students many new things and ways to improve themselves and their robots. Mr. Smith has kept the team organized and has gotten many grants so they can purchase and use new materials and equipment that are vital for building a robot and competing.
Pop Culture and Broadcast Class
Pop Culture and Broadcast classes merge to create videos for a class project. Senior Zander Vaillancourt helped several students learn how to use the equipment and discuss different aspects of broadcasting, including lighting, video editing, and multiple angles for each conversation.
Flextime Legos
Mrs. Kaiser-Munday's AP Human Geography class has applied for an American Geographical Society grant for the past two years and was finally awarded this year! They have purchased the Lego World Map and have invited others to help put it together during Flextime. It is a 12,000-piece set so it will take a while!

Campus Ministry
Christmas Blessing
O sweet Child of Bethlehem,
grant that we may share with all our hearts
in this profound mystery of Christmas.
Put into the hearts of men and women this peace
for which they sometimes seek so desperately
and which you alone can give to them.
Help them to know one another better,
and to live as brothers and sisters,
children of the same Father.
Reveal to them also your beauty, holiness, and purity.
Awaken in their hearts, love and gratitude for your infinite goodness.
Join them all together in your love.
And give us your heavenly peace. Amen."
— Pope John XXIII

Counselors Corner
PSAT Scores are Available for Juniors and Sophomores who opted-in to the PSAT.
Official PSAT/NMSQT score reports are now available. Students have been given information on accessing their score reports via the College Board website. Please note that students should be the only ones creating accounts; when a parent creates an account for their student, it can cause major issues logging in for future use. Please sit down with your student to make sure they log in and review the report together.
Do note that if a student has an account and they are unable to log in, they will need to do "forgot username/password" and potentially call Student Services at 866-315-6068; unfortunately, the College Board does not give us access to student account information, so we are not able to help with login.
For details on how to interpret the score report, including a video demonstration, go to: https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt/scores/understanding-scores/your-score-report-explained? SFMC_cid=EM854495-&rid=47609599
The counseling office will have a PSAT Scores Flex workshop for students on January 10, 2023, to further review the scores and what they mean. All students who took the PSAT will be in attendance. If you have questions in the meantime, contact your student's counselor.
