New Family Information Night
January 11 at 6:00 pm in the Drees Auditorium, the SHDHS administration, counselors, and advancement team will host an information night for incoming freshmen and parents.
Topics will include:
-HSPT results
-High school scheduling
-Scholarship winners announced
Parents and students are encouraged to attend. We look forward to meeting our newest Crusaders!

Please join us on Monday, January 8 at 7pm in the cafeteria for our next FEC general meeting. We will be talking about Parents Night at the Girls Basketball Games, Catholic Schools Week, Service Projects for students/parents, the CRU BID and BASH, and more. All are welcome and encouraged to attend!
CRU BID & BASH PLANNING MEETING
All hands on deck are needed for the Cru Bid & Bash committee meeting scheduled for Wednesday, January 10 at 6 pm in the cafeteria. We need many more volunteers to join the committee, especially the Silent Auction/Raffle committee, so please consider joining us. Thank you!

SPRING SERVICE HOURS REQUIREMENTS
Date Range: Dec 1 - April 24
- 10 hours are due each semester, 5 of those hours MUST be red
- Log all hours in MobileServe
- Monthly hours are to be logged by the end of the month
- All service must be direct and onsite at the service location
- Red service must be completed at a non-profit agency that serves disadvantaged or marginalized people
- White service must be completed with a school, parish, civic center, or diocesan events
- Parents may NOT sign off on hours
- Examples of hours that DO NOT count:
- assisting a family member or neighbor
- making bagged lunches, cookies, or blessing bags
- any event during the school day.
SERVICE HOUR OPPORTUNITIES
Mary Rose Mission
Mary Rose Mission is a great place to complete red service hours for the semester! Mary Rose Mission serves meals to people in need in the community. The mission requests help serving food, organizing food prep, cleaning, and hospitality. Volunteer spots fill up fast, so I encourage you to head to their Sign-up Genius link and find a few dates to serve. They offer evening and weekend shifts! When you serve here, you must wear modest clothing and closed-toed shoes.

Please invite grandparents (or grandparent figures) to the annual grandparent Mass(es)! Each grade level will celebrate Mass in the auditorium. Grandparents will be seated at 9:45 am, and Mass starts at 10:00 am, followed by light refreshments.

SUMMER PROGRAM OPPORTUNITIES
Governor's School for the Arts (GSA)
The three-week summer arts education program offers nine disciplines: Creative Writing, Dance, Design, Drama + Film, Photography, Instrumental Music, Musical Theatre, Visual Art, and Vocal Music.
Open to current sophomores and juniors.
Application Deadline: January 14, 2024
Governor's School for Entrepreneurs (GSE)
Three-week summer program where students learn about entrepreneurship, team building, and leadership.
Open to current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors.
Application Deadline: January 22, 2024
Commonwealth Honors Academy
A three-week academic enrichment experience is offered during the summer, where rising seniors earn college-level honors credits, participate in social and personal growth seminars, take field trips to enhance their classroom experience, and so much more.
Open to current juniors.
