Dear Crusader Families,
I trust this letter finds you in good spirits. As we embark on the Lenten season, we also turn our attention to preparations for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Following discussions with our school board, we are exploring the possibility of introducing a School Resource Officer (SRO) to the SHDHS campus.
The safety and security of our students and faculty remain our utmost priority. While our school has implemented various measures to ensure a secure environment, having an SRO would provide an additional layer of protection. The decision to add an SRO to our campus is to enhance our current protocols with a trained professional as a first responder to emergency events. The School Resource Officer will have multiple responsibilities around our campus, including but not limited to the following:
It's important to acknowledge that this decision entails a financial commitment from our community. Adding an SRO would increase tuition in addition to the annual increase due to operational expenses. We understand the financial sacrifices families make to send their children to a Catholic school, and we do not take this decision lightly. However, we believe that investing in the safety and well-being of our students is paramount.
We welcome any support from community members who are willing to contribute to offsetting the tuition increase associated with hiring an SRO. Your generosity would be deeply appreciated.
I encourage you to participate in our survey and share any insights or suggestions you may have. Your input is invaluable as we move forward with this decision-making process.
Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. May God bless you and your families abundantly.
