SHDHS is asking ALL families to complete the FACTS Financial Aid application for the 24-25 School Year
The FACTS Financial Aid application opened on January 4, 2024. We are asking that all SHDHS families complete this application regardless of need. In doing so, you will help our school receive funding to help lower the cost of education for all students. Applicants can use 2022 Tax returns and 2023 W-2's. We ask that all families submit their applications by April 1, 2024. For those families that apply and qualify for financial aid, the first round of award notifications will be made on April 30, 2024. Applications must be completed and verified by April 1 to be considered for the first round of awards. Please click here to apply. For questions, contact Connie Cornett at [email protected].
REQUIRED WORKBOOKS AND SUPPLEMENTARY MATERIALS INVOICED
Some classes require students to purchase workbooks and supplementary materials. Items were available in their classrooms during the first week of school. Invoices were emailed through your FACTS account on November 1, 2023, and were due by November 30, 2023. Payment should have been made manually through your FACTS. If you have not made this payment manually, it will be added to your February 2024 tuition payment. CRUSADER OF THE WEEK
Mrs. Reding nominates Freshman Ryne Ravenscraft for Crusader of the Week for Algebra 1 Honors.
Ryne is receiving this award because he has continuously grown his math skills all year. He often spends his flex time practicing and asking questions. He helps his peers be better math students by working on homework together. What is most impressive about Ryne is his strong work ethic and study habits, which will surely benefit him throughout his high school years and beyond. Thank you, Ryne, for being a positive role model to those around you. Congratulations, and keep up the hard work!"
Mr. Fay nominates Sophomore Leah Creed for Crusader of the Week for Chemistry Honors.
"Leah is nominated due to her work ethic and the support she so willingly provides to her peers. Leah diligently completes all of her assignments in a timely fashion and works hard to ensure that she keeps up with the pacing of the course. Additionally, she is the first to offer help to those sitting around her; whenever they have been absent or are struggling to understand a concept, she happily offers to help them get caught up.

Class of 2028
Dear parents of incoming freshmen students.
Please review the placement tests for your student and the summer enhancement programs available.
Spanish Placement Test
This test is for incoming freshmen students interested in bypassing Spanish 1 and going straight to Spanish 2/ 2 Honors. For motivated students who have had several years of Spanish instruction or Spanish at home and have already learned the basic concepts of greetings, family and home, food and beverages, school and classroom vocabulary, and present tense conjugations. Also, for those students not taking the placement test but who are motivated and studious, please consider signing up for Spanish 1 Honors. Spanish 1 Honors will cover more material in-depth faster and will have less review of the basic concepts that may have already been taught at the grade school level. If you have any additional questions, please contact Mrs. Elizabeth Hasken at [email protected].
Math Placement Test
This Math Placement Test is for incoming freshmen interested in taking Algebra II Honors as a freshman. Students registering for Algebra I or Algebra I Honors as freshmen do not need to take this placement exam. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Tiffany Reding at [email protected].
For more information about SHDHS Freshman Math Courses, click here.
