NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP FINALIST
St. Henry District High School would like to congratulate Emma Linkugel on being named a National Merit Finalist! Emma is only 1 of 15,000 students who have been named as a National Merit Finalist. TECH OLYMPICS - FIRST PLACE
Congratulations to Aaron Milner and Sam Lunnemann for winning 1st place in TechOlympics 2024. TechOlympics was hosted by Proctor and Gamble Company this year.
"TechOlympics 2024: Empower" is Cincinnati's premiere technology competition and expo. The students spent two days competing with other schools in challenges ranging from programming to design to networking. The students got hands-on assistance with creating a professional resume and learning how to conduct themselves during a formal job interview. They had direct access to Cincinnati's best employers, many of whom will be looking for summer interns and future co-ops.
ACADEMIC TEAM- GOVERNOR'S CUP
The SHDHS Academic Team pulled off another big win last weekend at the Region 8 Governor's Cup Tournament. The Cru placed 2nd Overall by getting 2nd Place in Quick Recall and by having several students place in the top five on their tests.
The Quick Recall team is headed up by Molly Krallman, who is supported by Sam Baker, Wendy Daniels, Gabe Thelen, Peter Holocher, Charlie Erwin, and Hudson Feinauer.
The following students placed in their individual events:
- Molly Krallman - 1st Place in Language Arts; 4th Place in Social Studies
- Sam Baker - 3rd Place in Social Studies
- Stefany Nix - 3rd Place in Language Arts
All of these students/teams will go on to compete at the State Finals in March.

The registration fee for the 2024-2025 school year is $200. If paid by March 15, students will receive a $25 discount on the registration fee. Those who pay by March 1 will be entered into a drawing to have one GENERAL FEE paid for the 2024-2025 school year.

Mrs. Vieth nominates Junior JT Houston for Crusader of the Week for AP Language and Comp.
"When taking any AP course, students know they need fortitude, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, and receptiveness to criticism. JT Houston embraced the challenge and has grown immeasurably. JT has worked very hard this year to improve his writing and reading skills and has grown in confidence. He has been willing to take leadership roles in class group work and has consistently participated in discussions in Socratic seminars. He is a pleasure to have in class. Congratulations, JT!"

"Lyndsey Payne is receiving this nomination for Crusader of the Week for her determination, improvement, positive attitude, and engagement in the classroom. Lyndsey always has a great attitude and works hard to improve every day. She isn't afraid to ask for help and is very interactive in class critiques. SHDHS BOOSTERS CRAFT SHOW
After taking a break for a few years, St. Henry is hosting a craft show again. This time, we are "Back at the SHAC"! The Craft Show will be on October 19 from 9:00-3:00 at 35 Cavalier Blvd in Florence. We are now accepting applications at http://igfn.us/form/-7w6mw. We have early bird rates until the end of February. Hurry if you want a booth; space is running out!

BOOSTER MULCH SALE
Spring is coming, and the Boosters are gearing up for their Mulch fundraiser.
The mulch cost is $4.50, and as long as you order five bags, they will deliver the bags to your home/office free of charge. The mulch will be delivered the weekend of April 19.
The money raised from this fundraiser will help purchase new uniforms for the athletic teams, buy senior banners, and pay for other needs throughout the year.

LENTEN FUNDRAISING EVENT
Our Lenten Fundraising Event for USA with Ukraine and Mary's Meals began this week! Students are encouraged to bring monetary donations to their religion class for five weeks and compete with other class periods. Each religion teacher has different weekly incentives for the class period with the most money collected! The grade level with the most money donated will win an out-of-uniform on March 27. If each student brings in $2-3, we can raise $2,000 for these two amazing agencies. If you want to learn more about what they do, check out their websites below.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS
This week, all religion classes practiced an ancient Christian tradition of Jesus' stations of the cross. Students did a wonderful job leading the stations, and SHDHS alum Brad Whittle led beautiful music to accompany each station.
GRANDPARENT MASSES
Grandparents (or grandparent figures) are invited to join us at the annual grandparent Mass(es)! Each grade level will celebrate Mass in the auditorium. Grandparents will be seated at 9:45 am; Mass starts at 10 am, followed by a light refreshment/reception. The Spirit Store will be open (special Grandparent shirt available), and upon request, tours will be provided for grandparents by our Student Ambassadors. Counselors Corner
Sources of Strength will run a campaign from 2/26 to 3/1 to help promote mental health. This will include morning announcements, a scavenger hunt, a kahoot, passing out goodies, and giving away prizes for completing the kahoot and scavenger hunt!
Parents: If mental health is a sensitive topic for your students, having a conversation with them before next week may be beneficial.

SUMMER PROGRAM OPPORTUNITIES
Commonwealth Honors Academy
The Commonwealth Honors Academy is a three-week academic enrichment experience held every June on Murray State University's main campus in Murray, KY. Students live on campus and earn college credit by taking honors-level courses. CHA will have several fun activities and seminars to help students grow personally and socially.
Students can attend the Commonwealth Honors Academy if they meet the basic requirements.
- Are or will be at least 16 years old
- Are you a current high school junior
- Have a 3.5 or higher GPA
- Have a 25 Composite ACT (or the equivalent)

Seniors Liela Brown and Sydney Bollman hosted a Prom Dress Drive at SHDHS for Cinderella's Closet, which helps girls who may not be able to afford prom dresses be able to! Great job, Liela, and Sydney!
