CRUSADER OF THE WEEK

Mrs. Johnson nominates Senior Stephanie Gruener for Crusader of the Week for PreCalculus.
"It is hard to choose just one student for Crusader of the Week. However, Stephanie Gruener is a student who always has a good attitude and comes to class prepared daily. She always has a smile on her face and is friendly to everyone. I am very fortunate to have Stephanie in class and honored to nominate her for Crusader of the Week."
Mrs. Maloney nominates Senior Jenny Felix for Crusader of the Week for Human Anatomy and Physiology.
"Jenny has a strong interest in pursuing a career in healthcare, and despite the difficult nature of this class, she comes to class every day prepared and ready to work - even in the first period. Her assignments are top-notch, and it is very apparent she takes learning this content material seriously. She is endlessly kind, has an outstanding work ethic, and is always attentive. Recognizing a quiet but excellent student as this week's Crusader of the Week is a pleasure. Congratulations, Jenny!"

ACADEMIC TEAM

Congrats to the SHDHS Academic Team at the Governor's Cup State Finals!! On Saturday in Louisville, Molly Krallman, Sam Baker, and Stefany Nix competed in individual assessments. In addition to team practices, these students studied their individual subject areas... some of them spending hours and hours each week to compete at this level.
On Sunday, the SHDHS Quick Recall team competed against some really strong teams and still managed a 2-3 record. For five hours straight, we lost, then won, then lost, then won, then lost. It was a roller coaster ride of emotions, especially for our seniors!! We didn't make it to the second day of the competition, but we are happy with our overall performance. This team did a fantastic job and kept it together under the guidance of their fearless leader, Molly Krallman. Other team members include Sam Baker, Wendy Daniels, Charlie Erwin, Hudson Feinauer, Peter Holocher, Stefany Nix, and Gabe Thelen.

THINK THE VOTE

Molly Kamer and Emma Linkugel were winners in the Think the Vote competition last week for the question, "Should Greater Limitations be Placed on Election Spending?" Each had an opposing side and were the victors on either side of this conversation (https://billofrightsinstitute.org/ttv/debates/should-greater-limitations-be-placed-on-election-spending). This is both Molly and Emma's second time winning this competition, each of them receive $25 and a prize pack! Congratulations, Molly and Emma!
